Join us for a fun and active day on the trails to help raise funds for a much-needed playground at Newport Elementary School! Whether you're a seasoned runner or just want to enjoy a walk with friends and family, this event is for everyone.

Register by April 1st and receive a t-shirt and a swag bag. We will also have an awards ceremony after the race is complete to give out top 3 in male and female for several age brackets.

10k Trail Run features a covered bridge and a historic mill.

The race is dog-friendly!

Race course is on a variety of terrain (pavement, gravel & grass)
Virtual 5K option also available (see details below)
Guaranteed T-shirt in selected size if registered by April 25th
Kids 5 & under are FREE for all events (T-shirt NOT included)
Raffles & refreshments will be on site for participants & spectators
Strollers permitted (umbrella strollers not recommended)
Pets are welcome, but MUST be on a leash & cleaned up after

REGISTRATION FEES:

'Live' 5K Race Fees:

$20 = NOW through Jan 31st
$25 = Feb 1st through May 13th @ noon
$30 = Race Day (VENMO, Cash or Check ONLY accepted on Race Day)
Guaranteed T-shirt in selected size if registered by April 25th

'Virtual' 5K Race Fees:

Run or walk 3.1 miles at your leisure by May 16th, wherever you choose – a treadmill, trail or your neighborhood.
$35 Fee = Includes mailed event T-Shirt (If registered AFTER May 13th, we can NOT guarantee requested size availability)
Finisher medal will be mailed upon request to those who submit tracked mileage time (based on the honor system) via email to hipp31@hotmail.com by May 17th at 11:59pm. If you submit your mileage time to be included in overall results, but do not wish to receive a 'finisher medal', please indicate this in your email.

AWARDS ('Live' 5K Event Only):

Medals will be awarded to the overall top male and female finishers as well as the top 3 male & female runners in the following age categories:

12 & under,13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+

o Awarded participants must be present for the awards ceremony - No 'Live' 5K event medals will be mailed.

In 2021, we dedicated the race to Ron Shields as he was always involved with running either with the road runners and help restart and coach the cross-country team at West Perry. In honor of him, we have renamed the Perry 5000 the Ron Shields Perry 5000.

The 5k starts at 9:30am and the mile walk, and fun runs starts after the 5k is finished. Stick around afterwards for the street fair.
