The marathon is two loops of the course.
The 5k goes out 1.55 miles and returns to the finish.
The 10k goes out 3.1 miles and returns to the finish.
All first time half marathon and marathon finishers will receive a plaque that commemorates their first half or full marathon finish. The athlete will also receive their finisher’s medal. Find Mark at the end of the race and let him know you ran your first marathon or half.
We are proud to announce that we have a non-binary registration option that has their own awards categories: overall and age groups.
Course info:
The course is actually a combo of road and trail.
The half marathon is an out and back loop, out 6.5543 miles and turnaround.
The first 4.2 miles are paved (and hilly!). That part ends around the scenic overlook. For the next 2.3 miles, since there is little auto traffic, it is a trail.
This trail is hard packed dirt, with no roots or potholes. It's really in very good shape.

DAY OF EVENT:
Registration will open at 6:30 a.m. at Grovedale Winery. Everyone will receive a bib and the race chip will be attached to your bike. If you're a team - only the member doing the bike leg will receive a chip
Please stage your kayak and bike before 7:30 a.m. There will not be time after that point to do so.
Pre-race talk will begin promptly at 7:45 a.m.
Race starts at 8 a.m.
A pace car will lead the runners to the Terrytown Launch and there will be a water station right before at the Terrytown Cemetery.
The skilled staff from Endless Mountain Outfitters will be on sight at the launch if you need help getting your kayak into the water, but they will not do so unless directed by you.
At the Endless Mountain Outfitters leg change - there will be a water station.
Our finish line is right back at Grovedale where we will have awards, food, and live music for anyone looking to unwind and cool off.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
You need to wear a life jacket while kayaking and a helmet when biking. These need to be hooked and racers will be disqualified if they are not wearing these.
We love to have family and friends there as spectators cheering you on BUT we do not want them running the course with you or biking the course. This is not safe for them or for our participants. Please remind them of this if they plan to do that.
We will stress that there are no spectators who drive off toward the Terrytown launch site. There is no space to accommodate cars there, because this area is still open to the public and there is just not enough room. We encourage everyone to leave from the high school and go over to EMO to watch you come in off the water. There are some great places to view from that point.
