This 5K fun run/walk is being held in memory of Max Schollenberger, a 12-year-old Annville resident, who died after experiencing horrendous abuse and neglect. His death rocked the community and
galvanized residents to do something substantive to honor Max and ensure he is remembered. This race provides an opportunity to help heal the community and to support The UPMC Child Advocacy Center of Central PA, an organization whose sole purpose is to treat children who have experienced abuse.
This is not a timed event. The focus of the run is to honor and remember Max.

We are back and bigger than ever! After last year's sell-out crowd, we are adding a competitive bracket (must run under 7:30 minutes per mile) that will start at 8:10, our full kick-off at 8:40 am,
and our family fun-run/walk at 9:50 am.
This indoor 5K takes place entirely inside the mall! It will give runners and walkers the rare chance to run the mile‑long loop of Arundel Mills without braving the cold!
Choose between completing multiple loops for the full 5K or opting for our family‑friendly fun run or walk, featuring a shorter distance perfect for kids and new runners. This race takes place before the mall opens! It is not intented to be a course to set a personal best, but we can promise it will be a fun and unique one!
All finishers will receive a medal!
This race is hard capped. If you can still sign up, there is space! Once we hit our cap, we will have to welcome you next year! Strollers are only allowed during the Fun Run/Walk
Sunday Morning Check-In Time:
Elite Runners: 7:30 AM
5K: 8:00 AM
Fun Run/Walk: 9:10 AM
Post-Race Activities!
After you cross the finish line, stick around for post‑race activities, including fitness demos, recovery stretches, training tips, and workout ideas for all ages.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the amazing organization- Girls on the Run, the Greater Chesapeake Chapter!
Packet Pick-Up
Bib, swag, and shirts will be handed out before the race! If you have not received it, please arrive by 8:00 am. If you have already picked up your packet, you will only need to pick up your racing timer that goes around your ankle in the morning. EVERYONE needs to pick up their racing timer.
Reminder- this is a cupless race! Waters will not be handed out. We have dozens of water fountains on site and want to ensure the floors stay as dry as possible. Please bring a container with a lid for your water.
Swag and Giveaways
All participants receive both a finisher's medal and a shirt! Check in for the swag bag our retailers and partners provide, including giveaways, raffles, promos, and discounts at Arundel Mills stores! Shirts are not guaranteed for runners who sign up after 2/16.
Hydration Station
In order to keep the floors as dry as possible, there will only be a water station at the start/finish line that racers will pass as they go around the mall. While water/drinks are allowed on the course, there will be no water cups while on the lap, except for water at the food court. The mall has several restrooms available throughout the course that have water fountains next to them. Running with a cup without a lid is not permitted, but running with water or other fluids is permitted as long as it closes (water bottle, camelbak, sports bottle, etc.)
What to Bring
Your own water, bags, and gear are fine to bring! We will have waves starting/finishing in the food court that will provide plenty of tables and chairs to store your items. We cannot allow pets, selfie sticks, glass, or weapons. Note that neither the mall nor Peake Events is responsible for lost belongings.
Parking and Entrance Recommendation
The closest parking would be the Maryland Live Casino parking garage (free), and use the Food Court Entrance. Nando Peri Peri is located next to that Food Court entrance for reference.
Distance Disclaimer
Please note: Course distance and start times may adjust slightly based on registration numbers and logistics. Waved starts will help ensure plenty of space for running through the mall corridors. The 5K course will be four laps around the mall and is 1/10th of a kilometer longer than an exact 5K.
Strollers and Children Note
The 5K race will have runners completing four laps around the mall, making for tight spots, especially in two sections that require a small ramp to go up/down. Runners can also opt to run up and down the three stairs as they see fit. Strollers will only be allowed during the Fun Run/walk and must start at the back. Any child participating in the 5K should be able to maintain a jogging pace and stick to the right-hand side of the course. We love kids, but know they like to take off and run around without always looking around their surroundings. Please ensure your child is both old enough for the 5K and can follow proper race etiquette. We invite everyone to join the Fun Run/Walk!

The Zebra 5K Run/Walk is an in person or virtual 5K run OR walk!
Why a Zebra? The Zebra is the official symbol of rare diseases in the United States... currently over 10,000 unique diseases!
WHO WE
HELP: The Zebra 5k Run/Walk benefits the greater rare disease community. There are nearly 10,000 diseases considered "rare," and approximately 1 in 10 Americans are living with one of these rare diseases or disorders. Help raise awareness for these patients and their families by participating in our in person and/or virtual 5K run/walk. Your support will benefit children living "rare" at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These institutions and our program provides financial assistance to rare disease patients and their families who have exhausted all financial alternatives on their journey to receiving their child's rare diagnosis. The Zebra 5K specifically benefits the patient assistance funds at the hospitals who provide care and financial assistance to pediatric rare disease patients.
WHO ARE WE? The New Hope Run Club is a running and movement group located in New Hope, PA. We're sponsoring this run and hosting the in-person portion of the run (find us on Facebook or at www.newhoperunclub.com). We've partnered with these nationally recognized institutions to do our part in supporting the rare disease community and raise money and awareness for this great cause.

New Jersey Randonneurs' "GS1200" is a cloverleaf event based out of the East Windsor Holiday Inn near Princeton, in the middle of the state.
Day One is a very flat, skinny 400K loop down through the
cranberry bogs and blueberry farms of the Pine Barrens to Cape May, in the southeast corner of the state, and back.
Day Two is a moderately hilly, circular 300K loop, northeast to the Jersey Shore, where you can view Manhattan from the highest natural elevation on the Atlantic seaboard from Maine to the Yucatan, then south along the highest concentration of ocean boardwalks in the US, and back.
Day Three is a long, narrow 300K loop south, through the Pine Barrens to the Philly suburbs in the southwest corner of the state and back.
Day Four is a hilly 200K loop that heads northwest in the direction of the Delaware Water Gap and back, through small towns and farms reminiscent of New England.
This is an unsupported ride. There is no rider limit, but dependent on availability at the start/finish hotel (or one of the several nearby).
Randonneuring—non-competitive, long-distance cycling, where you follow a pre-planned route and attempt to finish within a set time-limit—is a great way to test your endurance, navigational skills, and fortitude.
The route can viewed at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47817242
Please Note: It is possible for riders to be out on the route beyond sunset. For those riders, lighting and reflective gear are required.
Please refer to the Rules for Lighting and Guidelines on Reflectivity
The full Randonneurs USA Rules for Riders may be found here.
