Sloane's Story
On May 26, 2021, the Swanton family's lives changed forever. Their youngest daughter, Sloane, was diagnosed with a 1 in a million brain tumor called a Pediatric Clival Chordoma. There is no treatment protocol for chordoma, especially in children. Sloane underwent 2 brain surgeries, 3 rounds of chemotherapy and was placed on a ventilator twice. The tumor started responding to chemo and Sloane regained her ability to move on her own, to breathe on her own and to even begin acting like a toddler again. Unfortunately though, the tumor stopped responding and started to grow despite all of the medical interventions she received. Sloane lost her battle to chordoma on September 14, 2021 at only 18 months old. Please join us in raising money to support Pediatric Chordoma Research through the Sloane Swanton 5K Research Run. Every dollar raised will help us move closer to finding a way to treat pediatric chordoma and develop new chemotherapy drugs to target those specific tumor cells. Her fight is our
fight now, her legacy is to help other children beat this horrible disease.
