Hi! My name is Ava and my friends and I are excited to be holding the 9th annual Lemon Trails 5K Run/Walk this year. When I was in first grade (2016) I started a lemonade stand at our community garage sale to raise money for “sick kids”. My parents and I found Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and knew it was a great fit for our mission. This organization helps to fund grants for research, raise awareness, and support families with a mission to help find the cure for childhood cancer.
My friends and siblings joined me on this mission and since 2016 we have held 8 lemonade stands and are excited to be holding our 9th Lemon Trails 5K Run/Walk this year. We have raised a total of $92,273, which has all been donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation on behalf of this event! We couldn’t have done this without the support of our local businesses (sponsors) and community members (YOU)! We look forward to seeing each and everyone of you again this year to help us reach our goal of $10,000 to be raised this year.
This year we will again be holding a hybrid event. You can choose between an in-person or virtual event. The in-person event will take place at Hilliard Station Sixth Grade School on July 18, 2026; while the virtual event will be held wherever you choose.
*Virtual event registrations will have their packets dropped off (if local in Columbus, Ohio) or mailed to their home address (if not local). All in-person registrations will receive their packets at the pre-race or race day packet pickup. In person registrations do not include shipping of packets.
All proceeds from the race will again be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Please support us and our mission to help support pediatric cancer research!

FAQ:
How do I get back to the theatre location I parked at?
There will be no shuttles or organized transportation. Think of this like you would a bar crawl where you start at one end of the line, and end on the other. We recommend planning to be picked up by a friend or using Rideshare. Or round up to a half marathon and run home!
What do we do when we arrive at the first location?
Head to the registration table to sign in and get your bib and course map. Then head into the theatre for the first screening!
What do we do when we arrive at the second location after the run?
Grab your shirt, pint glass, get 1 free beer, and hang out until the second screening begins at 11:30am.
Will the kitchens be open?
The kitchens will be open throughout the event! Have yourself some Forrest Brunch.
What should we wear?
Plan for the weather (July in Ohio, could be hot or blazing hot, ya know how it goes) but costumes are highly encouraged! You will be sweaty, so either plan a change of clothes at your ending theatre or sweat it up!!
Is there a gear drop?
Yes, put your belongings in ONE small bag, label it and give it to our volunteers at registrations. They will transport to your end location.
What do we get?
Entry to the event, Forrest Gump Screening, Custom Event Pint Glass, Event t-shirt, 1 Free Beer, and Bragging rights.
Is this a race?
NAHHHH. This is not a chipped/timed event, it is a FUN RUN. Hence the costumes and beer. If you'd like to bust ass between theaters, that's on you. All you'll get is braggin' rights.
Will there be water on the course?
YES. We will supply water and gatorade at three locations along the 6.5 mile course. We'll have chocolate and shrimp for the true Gump-heads at the midway point. View the course here.
What is your inclement weather policy?
We run rain or shine. If there is an imminent threat of lightning, we will communicate delays or cancellations via our official channels.
Please join us on Sunday, July 26th, at the Westerville Sports Complex (325 N Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43082) to support cancer patients, survivors, and to raise awareness of cancer prevention. The morning will be filled with activities for the entire family. The welcome and a tribute to cancer patients and survivors will begin around 8:30 followed by the pre-race warm up and the KIDS DASH. The 5K will begin at approximately 9AM.
Race start times: Kids Dash 5 & Under 6:35 PM, Kids Dash 6 & Over 6:45 PM, 5K 7:00 PM
