When: Saturday, February 1, 2025
Where: Camp Nuhop - 1077 Township Rd 2916, Perrysville, OH 44864
Who: This race is for anyone who is brave enough to tackle this beast...but is limited to the first 100 participants to register!
What: Pain.
Details: The Vertical Mile is not like most events where you are shooting for a distance covered, like a 25k, 50k, or 100 mile race. When we say "Vertical Mile" we mean it...you are going to go Vertical for 5,280 feet! Trevor and the Nuhop gang have found a 3.0 mile-ish loop that has OVER 1000' of climbing on each loop, and we intend to run that loop 5 times to make sure that your total Vert gain is over a mile...yes, a mile. You can expect the total distance to be somewhere between 14-16 miles depending on your tracking device, and will have between 275-300' per mile of vertical gain!.
BACK FOR 2025 is the offering of the Vertical Half Mile! Don't want to go the whole distance but don't want that dreaded DNF attached to your name...we've got you covered!
Each loop will start and finish in an open area in front of the Nuhop Lodge. Access to your own personal aid supplies, bathrooms, warmth, etc. will be readily available at the close of each loop. We will have chip timing in place to track your progress (or lack-thereof) and will be posting results live for all those on the inter webs to view. This event is not for flat landers or the faint of heart, BUT it will make you tougher (or kill you trying).
Packet Pickup: We will utilize "Touchless" packet pickup once again this year. All race items (Bib, Pins, 1/2 Zip) will be pre-packaged prior to race day and starting at 8:00am on race morning the packets will be laid out in alphabetical order on tables near the Start/Finish line. Please serve yourself.
Cost: $65 (Includes Beer, Soup, Vertical Mile Half Zip Running Top, Electronic Chip timing, and Bragging Rights (IF you finish)
Lodging: Looking to stay the night before or after the event? We will be partnering with Mohican Lodge & Conference Center who will have special pricing on a block of rooms for this event. This facility has incredible accommodations AND is walking distance to the starting line!
You can reach them at: 419-938-5411 and tell them you are visiting Camp Nuhop for the Vertical Mile!
