Central United Church (CUC) is working to raise awareness and funds for groundbreaking ALS research at Sunnybrook Hospital's Brain Sciences Program, in honour of longtime CUC member and Unionville
resident, Lynne Pulenzas. This 5K run/walk event is not only a fundraiser - it is a celebration of Lynne's strength as she has faced this disease, her legacy of kindness, and the love that surrounds her. To learn more about Lynne's story click here. By coming together in an active way, we honour her fight and help move closer to a world without ALS.
To walk or run with us, and help work towards eliminating ALS, click the "Register" button! As you register, you will be prompted to set up your own fundraising page to send to your friends and family. We suggest a fundraising goal of $1000, but any amount is great! You can also make your own donation to Sunnybrook as part of the registration process.
To donate to Sunnybrook without registering to walk or run, click one of the "Donate Now" buttons or click "Donate to Participant" to the left of the page to sponsor a specific walker/runner's fundraising efforts. Charitable tax receipts will be automatically issued by Sunnybrook through Race Roster for donations over $10.
If you need help setting up or sharing your fundraising page, please contact church staff - Christina Ng.

The Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon is located approximately 2 miles off Route 5 near West Hill Golf Course at the Intersection of Ike Dixon Road between Sand Road and Gillie Brook Road. The swim is 1/2
mile (2 loops) in a natural, spring fed Gillie Lake, a relatively flat 15 mile bike course and a spectator friendly 5k run to round out the course. This is a great event for all women - first time racers, seasoned triathletes and relay teams. Come join the 13th Annual Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon, it's a spectator friendly course, and family atmosphere.
The 2024 edition will include the sprint triathlon (individual and relay) and Aquabike (swim, bike). This race category is popular with those not ready to run the 5k stance for whatever reason. Racers will swim and ride the same courses as those in the triathlon, but when you are done biking, you are finished with the race. We welcome you to the race infield to enjoy food and drink and cheer on your friends and/or family still on the racecourse!
