The Daniel Barden Mudfest was created in memory of Daniel Barden, one of the first-grade students whose life was taken during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in December 2012.

The event was founded by family members whose niece was inside the school that day. While she escaped unharmed, she lost her dear friend Daniel. In the face of unimaginable loss, Mudfest was born as a way to honor Daniel’s life and carry forward the values he embodied.

Daniel is remembered as a kind and gentle child who treated everyone with respect and joy. He had a zest for life and loved the outdoors, sports, and getting muddy. Those simple joys are at the heart of Mudfest.

Join us for our Fifth Annual 5k Fun Run & Walk, the Loco Moco 5k (previously the Husky Hustle)!

This is a fundraising event for our Oneida Elementary PTO. Our organization's mission is to provide opportunities for our students at no/low cost so funding isn't an issue for families struggling with financial concerns. This can range from field trips, scholarships, celebrations, and everything in between.

Our goal is to raise money to continue our support for our schools while also creating a fun and safe community event.

Even if you don't plan on running the course, come for the food, vendors, and other fun activities!

    Event Schedule:
