"The Waz" Junior Road Race Series:
The CCAP and the Connecticut cycling community suffered a tremendous loss in 2020 with the passing of our dear friend and ardent supporter, coach, and volunteer, Matt Waskiewicz. Matt’s wide smile and open arms were a welcome sight to all, especially those new to our sport; not a day goes by without “The Waz” in our thoughts.
Coach Matt’s ability to find the natural athlete and foment drive and ambition in every young rider brought out the best in us all. Our goal is to continue his passion with renewed vigor as we open our 2025 road racing season.
Additional Event Notes:
All USAC Rules Apply. Helmets required. No Tri-Bikes or forward-facing bar ends. No sleeveless Jerseys. ALL riders will need either an annual license or purchase a $15 one-day license via bikereg.
What does "TNC" stand for?
The TNC stands for Tuesday Night Crit. The TNC has been hosted on Tuesday nights at our beloved venue, Rentscher Field, for several years now.
**Which race is right for you?
The "A race" is meant for Pro, Cat 1,2, 3.
The "B Race" is meant for Novice and Cat 4 Racers. If you consistently place well in this, you will be asked to race the A race.

Nearly 500 runners and walkers joined us last year, and after three years of tinkering, we finally cracked the code: same course, same start and finish, and the same post-race reward — a cold Common
Roots beer. This year, we’re kicking off at 6:30 PM and hoping for clear skies. Thanks to the running clubs, creative teams, and proud wearers of wild shirts and wilder props who make this event what it is. See you at the start line, where good people, great stories, and maybe a few mismatched costumes collide for a cause that runs deep.

Cedar Lake Triathlon Summer 2026 Season - Race #6
This is the final race of our 6 race summer series held every other Thursday night at Cedar Lake for local, grassroots racing at its best.
For 2026,
we will offer two races:
Individual and Relay Sprint Triathlon: Our individual and relay sprint triathlons consists of a 500(ish) yard lake swim, a 10 mile bike, and a 5k road run. They are perfect races for first timers who want to see what they can achieve, experienced triathletes looking to fine tune for a longer fall race, or anyone who just wants an active, family summer Thursday evening. We have awards for both the fast and the first (timers), and lots for those in between. Relay teams are welcome and celebrated. Wetsuits are encouraged when the water temperature is below 80 degrees, and strongly encouraged for at least the first two races. Aqua jogging is not permitted.
Super Sprint Triathlon: Returning for its second season is our popular super sprint race: all of the triathlon experience just in a smaller package! The super sprint consists of a 200(ish) yard swim, a 5mile bike, and a 1.7 mile run. First timers love this race: you can start your Thursday as a regular human, finish it as a Triathlete, and let us share the joy of your success with special prizes (and a whole lot of positive energy!!). Younger races are welcome, but you have to be 13 to toe the line. And we love families. If your child is racing, you can race with them for free as long as you accompany them for the entire race. Swim, bike and run with your child; it's a priceless family experience.
Gun Times:
Super Sprint: 6:10 p.m
Individual / Relay Sprint: 6:15 p.m.
Preregistration: Racers must preregister. Register early to secure both a spot and a lower entry fee, which will increase on race day. Last season, the races sold out several times and once we hit our cap, we can't accept any more entries.
Online registration will close at 5:00 p.m. on each race day. There will be no onsite registration this year.
Race day check in starts at 5:00 p.m. and all registered racers must be checked in by 5:45 p.m.
First Time? Come on down to Cedar Lake!! We love first timers and a significant part of our weekly field of racers are athletes getting their feet wet for the first time. In transition, you will see every type of bike racked and ready to race: from expensive carbon TT bikes headed for an Ironman to hybrid bikes and even the occasional beach cruiser. Not sure you can do a triathlon? Finding out is half the fun. Over 95% of our racers finish each week. We don't use cutoff times, except for later in the season as the sun starts to set earlier (typically the last race or two). Not sure exactly how it works? We have lots of friendly experienced volunteers and even a certified tri coach on site on race days to explain the mysteries of buoy turns, transition and equipment. Before you race, be sure that you can swim 20 pool lengths without stopping for the full sprint, or 10 pool lengths for the super sprint. Aqua jogging is not permitted.
Come join us this summer!
Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather on race day, the race organizers reserve the right to change the race to a duathlon, a 5K or cancel the race.

Hoopla 2026 dates just announced!
Join us for a weekend of bringing folks together to enjoy cycling, camping, outdoor adventure and fun! Make new friends, ride awesome trails and try out new bikes.
We have planned a family friendly event and are ready to inspire new riders as well as to challenge trail and road warriors alike. Enjoy guided rides for all levels in the beauty of the Berkshire Hills: road ride, single track, gravel, kids, enduro, double track and family friendly trails. Bonfires, food trucks, live music, BBQ and maybe even a disco tent! This is not a mountain bike specific event, it’s open to all disciplines of cycling whether you are on a road, gravel, kids, fat or mountain bike. Just c’mon out and play!
Camping and event activities are located at Ponderosa Pines Campground at 50 Potter Mountain Rd, in Lanesborough. It is best accessed from the east or south(Pecks Rd, Bull Hill Rd or Churchill St and beware of your GPS advising you to come in from NY to the west via Potter Mtn Rd, you won’t make it over! The campground is nestled in-between Balance Rock State Park and Pittsfield State Forest(https://www.mass.gov/locations/pittsfield-state-forest), the 3rd and 4th largest public lands in the state of Massachusetts. Being on a dirt road it is the perfect location to start a gravel ride, with direct access to single track out the back of the campground is doesn’t get much better for the mountain bikers and the Mount Greylock Visitor Center(https://www.mass.gov/locations/mount-greylock-state-reservation) on Rockwell Rd is a short 7 miles away so you won’t use up to much energy before pedaling to the highest point in Massachusetts on your road bike! We will have a kids loop that stays close to
the event site, but even young teenagers will find that the access to the single track is quite manageable.
Our goal is to create a safe and fun environment to gather like minded people. With your participation, Hoopla is able to support other local cycling events, maintain and improve existing trails, purchase equipment for trail builders and donate to fitness/sporting organizations that need a little help.
Hope to see you there!

(SLIGHTLY) NEW COURSE FOR 2026!
Tour of High Bridge 2026 Course
Building on last year's course, thanks to some newly paved roads that weren't usable last year, we've added three turns and

Traversing beautiful viewpoints along the Hudson River from New Jersey to New York and back again the Interstate 17 Trail Run delivers amazing scenery as it tests your physical prowess.
You will run
four times on a four mile loop of rugged technical trails after a mile out and back on a closed road to separate the field of runners for safety. You will complete three counterclockwise loops followed by a final loop clockwise. You must check in at the beginning/end of each loop to have your time card punched.
Founded in 2017. This is NOT your average trail race. This trail is meant to test your strength and endurance. Seventeen miles with over 5000 ft. of elevation change, if you're not extremely careful there are many places where you can fall to your death or serious injury. No awards or medals. Race at your own risk.
Course Description
Mile 0-1: from the start/finish out and back on road
Mile 1-2: heading south along a semi technical rock strewn dirt trail which leads to a steep long descent on rocky uneven jagged stairs and switchbacks. Once you reach the bottom you'll head north on smooth dirt trail along the river with beautiful views
Mile 2-3: a boulder filled rock scramble where you'll need to use your hands to navigate at certain points ends with a singletrack dirt trail with short yet steep ascents and descents along the river
Mile 3-4: singletrack dirt path takes you directly back into another rock scramble, however this portion is much more runnable, ending directly on the shore of the river
Mile 4-5: as you continue along the rocky shore trail you'll encounter the beautiful waterfall signaling your time to ascend the cliff using various switchbacks and staircases. Once you reach the top it's a short trip south through wide cross country skiing trails back to the checkpoint/aid station at the start/finish area
Miles 5-9 & 9-13 repeat miles 1-5. Last loop miles 13-17 you'll reverse your path.
Aid Station
Mile 1, 5, 9, & 13 Fully stocked with water, sports drink, soda, candies, oranges, chips, pretzels and more! Feel free to leave your own personal supply stash, it will be safe and easy to access each loop.
*Due to distance between aid we highly recommend carrying your own hydration supply (handhelds may be cumbersome at times you may require both hands free)
Email with complete information will be sent a week prior to event date to all registered runners, plz check your junk folder or send us a message if you can’t locate it.

DID YOU KNOW?
Young Adults Who Were At-Risk for Falling Off Track but Had a Mentor Are:
55% more likely to enroll in college
130% more likely to hold leadership positions.
78% more likely to volunteer regularly
90% are interested in becoming a mentor
Our organization is headed by strong professional who are dedicated to elevating under-resourced students and their families. We understand that there is a disproportionate representation of minorities in key decision-making positions in all facets of leadership in the current time. We aim to close that gap by providing deserving students with the opportunity for financial, mental, and professional education. By offering mentorships to scholarship recipients, we aim to grow a network of like-minded individuals who will continuously give back to their communities and others alike.
VIRTUAL 5K OPTION: #MentoringMatters5K
#MentoringMatters5K is a virtual, non-competitive race by Follow My Steps that allows participants to choose their preferred distance and activity, such as running, walking, or dancing.
