HedgeFondo
A premium cycling event rooted in the Litchfield Hills, designed with the care of a world-class riding experience.
Hedgefondo is a thoughtfully produced cycling event built to showcase the
Litchfield Hills as one of the Northeast’s premier road and gravel riding destinations, with easy access from New York and Boston. What began as a small, private ride among investment bankers—hence the name Hedgefondo—quickly grew by word of mouth to more than 250 participants in its first public year, with over 500 riders expected this season from the New York, Connecticut, and Boston regions. Based at Rifugio, a premier active hospitality hub in the Litchfield Hills, the event pairs curated routes with elevated pre- and post-ride hospitality, creating a true basecamp for the day. Hedgefondo is coordinated and spearheaded by KC&E Adventures, a team with over a decade of experience designing premium cycling experiences around the world and featured in Forbes, Men’s Journal, Cycling Magazine, Yankee, and Bicycling.

Gravel: ~30 miles
A mixed-surface route highlighting the Litchfield Hills’ network of quiet dirt and gravel roads. This ride weaves through rural landscapes, wooded backroads, and hidden corners of the region, including sections near White Memorial Preserve, showcasing the area’s natural beauty and sense of exploration.
Endurance Distance
Road: ~70 miles
An expansive road route designed to showcase the depth and variety of riding in the Litchfield Hills. The course links together rolling hills, longer climbs, and extended stretches of quiet pavement, passing lakes, farms, and stone-lined roads that reflect the region’s historic and pastoral landscape.
Gravel: ~53 miles
A full-distance gravel route that dives deep into the region’s most remote and scenic terrain. Welcome! I’m your Race Director, Tom Wilkas. We are pleased to bring you both the original Pat Griskus Sprint Triathlon, which started in 1987, and the Olympic distance race, which was conceived in

Pat Griskus was an amazing guy and credited with paving the way for the many amputee athletes to follow.
Both races are USAT Sanctioned and are held at Quassy Amusement Park on Route 64 in Middlebury, CT. The Sprint distance starts with a half-mile swim in spring-fed Lake Quassapaug, enjoy the challenging 10.5 mile bike around the lake, and the out-and-back 3.1 mile run. There is a First Timers division for those tackling their first Triathlon ever, with medals for all first time finishers. With close to 100 first-timers each year, this race has become a favorite for first time triathletes!
The Olympic distance race features a clean and clear one mile lake swim in Lake Quassapaug, enjoy a 25 mile challenging one loop bike course through classic New England farm country, and a 6.2 mile run on shaded back roads.

Richie's Race (Officially Timed Mile) & Mary's Miles (Walk)
We are very excited to announce our Mary Therese Rose Fund Run/Walk in Memory of Rich DuHaime. In prior years, this was 5K Run/Walk
formerly held in Darlington County Park in Mahwah. NJ. This year’s event will feature milers competing on the Lakeland Regional High School track. The walkers will be cheering them on the runners from the inner oval and outer edges of the track. Mile runs are all the rage, but walknig is just as important. Everyone within a stone's throw of Wanaque can see how fast (or slow) they can tackle a mile (5,280 feet/4 laps around the track), while having fun engaging or just kicking back and enjoying the "time" of day.
In Memory of Rich DuHaime
Rich and his family have been recipients of assistance through the fund for their special needs child and dedicated the last 10+ years to raise funds for the children of the Mary Therese Rose Fund. Rich unexpectedly passed away on May 4th, 2021, and our fund has decided to honor his life and dedication to our charity.
About the Mary Therese Rose Fund
This fund was founded in honor of Mary Therese Rose Crilly who was born in 1998 with Joubert Syndrome, and who sadly passed away in 2003. We are a nonprofit organization, registered with the State of New Jersey as a 501(c)(3) organization, making all of your donations tax-deductible. Since its inception, it has been the mission of The Mary Therese Rose Fund to never deny a family in need. We are constantly organizing new fundraising activities.

DRRT Technical Trails Workshop #2- Sterling Edition
This workshop focuses on finding flow on the trails. We'll tackle the McKeags Meadow trail in Sterling Forest and hone in our techniques for
cornering in berms, and pumping for momentum.
We'll do a quick review of body position and cornering techniques before we hit the trail to find our flow
We move at your pace. If the group is crushing it, we push further. If we need more time on the basics, we take it. That's the beauty of a clinic built around you.
Come for the skills. Stay for the stoke.
When: Sunday, June 21
Time: 10 am - 2 pm
Where: Tuxedo, NY
Cost: $200/per person
Space is limited to 8 participants – be sure to register early!
A mountain bike in good working condition is required. Helmet required. Flat pedals, elbow and knee pads recommended.
This workshop takes place rain or shine.
About DRRT:
Dirt Rock n Root Training's owner Kathi Krause has been around the bike block – from velodrome and road racing to cyclocross, XC and finally her true love: downhill. She spent a decade on the Pro downhill circuit, stacking up three Masters World DH Championships, five national titles and a win at the legendary Kamikaze Downhill.
After 25 years of racing, Kathi shifted gears to coaching and founded Dirt Rock n Root Training in 2011 . Since then, she's been helping riders find their flow on everything from lift-accessed bike parks to rocky, rooty singletrack. You'll find her leading her Technical Trail series of clinics in North Jersey or running women's clinics at Mountain Creek Bike Park. Her mission? Simple: Get more women and kids on bikes, help them crush fear and build a community that rides hard and supports harder.
When not coaching, you can find Kathi out doing what she loves most - shredding the rocks and roots of NJ or dropping into her home trails at Mountain Creek Bike Park.
