Run or walk your way through Hector's scenic hillside. You'll weave your way through vineyards and farmland trails while catching glimpses of beautiful Seneca Lake. It starts and ends at The Oasis at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyard. This is a fundraising event to help the Hector Area Lions Club better serve our community's needs.
All runners pre-registered by 8/31/25 will receive a t-shirt. Those registering between 9/1 - 9/28 are not guaranteed a T-shirt and will be available on a limited basis. There will be post-race activities and awards following the race at The Oasis.
Finger Lakes Duathlon Watkins Glen
The Formula 1 Duathlon is staged on one of the most historic and well-known race tracks in the country. Watkins Glen International hosts the only NASCAR event in New York State and has its roots in Formula 1 racing. Our Formula 1 race at The Glen is a run-bike-run-bike-run duathlon taking place on Porsche Clash weekend. We take the track following the event with Pit Row serving as transition. Added to the event in 2017 is the Classic Du - run-bike-run duathlon on the same legendary course.
Come early to watch the Porsche event on the track before we race which is included in your registration!
Start line: Lawn of the Schuyler County Courts - 105 9th St, Watkins Glen
Finish line: Lucky Hare Brewing Bar & Grill - 2 Seneca Harbor Dr, Watkins Glen
The route follows the original Grand Prix course and is 100% on roads or sidewalks. Near the finish, runners must cross Franklin St (NY-14) using the street light signals. Traffic WILL NOT be stopped for runners. Special Note: Runners must obey traffic signals at Franklin St / NY-14. Stopping and waiting may be necessary. Crossing illegally will result in disqualification and potentially injury or death.
Cutoff Time: 3 hours (12pm)
Free drink at the finish (provided by Lucky Hare Brewing) and finish line snacks
1 Aid Station approximately halfway through with water, electrolyte drink, snacks
Post race party at the Lucky Hare Brewing, Watkins Glen Marina, location will be open to runners, friends, family, and the public with live music, as well as additional food and drink for purchase.

Race Day Information
You must check in before the race. Check in starts at 7:30 am and ends at 8:45 am. Check in will be located on the courthouse lawn, near the corner of 10th St and Franklin St (Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/UyyXRDGW7ix8fGSq7). If you pre-ordered a shirt, you can pick it up here.
Race Start
Race announcements will take place at ~8:50 am around the check-in area at the Courthouse lawn. From there, we will move to the race start across the street.
Race will start at 9 am on Franklin St at the Grand Prix sign on the southbound lane.
Make your first right hand turn onto Old Corning Rd (and enjoy the climb!) and stick to the side of the road.
Follow orange cones placed on the side of the road.
Race Details
You will be running with the flow of traffic for the first 5.6 miles.
A reminder that traffic will not be stopped during the race, and you must follow all traffic signals, paying special attention at Franklin St and NY-14 - stopping and waiting may be necessary. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and potentially injury or death.
There will be an aid station at approximately 2.9 miles, once you’ve turned onto Whites Hollow Rd. There will be water, Gatorade electrolyte drink, and some bananas.
You will need to cross the road at about mile 5.6 - again, exercise caution and cross when it is safe to do so.
Finish line is at the Lucky Hare Brewing Bar & Grill Marina Location at the end of North Decatur St (Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bLkoyZxM3SdfiAbN9)
There will be volunteers along the course - they are there to help ensure your safety but cannot stop traffic - please exercise caution when crossing roads.
Post Race
At the finish line, you’ll be given a free drink token for use at the Lucky Hare Marina location, good for Saturday.
Everyone finishing the race will get a finishers award, with additional awards going to age groups and overall winners.
We’ll have additional snacks, fruit, water, and more available for you post race. If you purchased the ticket with brunch, you'll have access to that at the finish line area.
Raffle drawing will take place at 11 am - make sure you stick around if you finish fast, there are great prizes we’ll be giving away, but you have to be there to win! By registering and running the race, you’re automatically entered.

Camping Information
The Sugar Hill Recreation Area, located at 3360 Tower Hill Rd, Watkins Glen, NY, is the largest designated camping area on Sugar Hill State Forest. Available on a first-come first-serve basis, the area is a nine-acre open field for camping. These 26 designated campsites have fire rings and picnic tables. Upon arrival, campers must fill out a self-issued camping permit. There is no reservation system, if you arrive and it is full you will have to find another location to camp.Other facilities in the Rec Area include; a picnic area with picnic tables and pavilion, an accessible horse-mounting platform, open horse stalls, during summer months a restroom with potable water are available, and access to the Six Nations Trail System, as well as the Sugar Hill Fire Tower. The gate is opened to vehicle traffic, and the water turned on, from the 3rd Monday in May through the 3rd Monday in October of each year.The Lower Evergreen Hill Rec Area, located off of Evergreen Hill Rd, is smaller and has picnic tables, fire rings, open horse stalls and a pit privy. New for 2021, three campsites have been designated. No trash pickup is provided. This is a carry in-carry out facility.Individual campsites are located throughout the State Forest. These 19 additional primitive designated camping sites are semi-flat spots, some are graveled parking areas, others are small openings set back in the woods on topsoil, most with no other facilities provided.Primitive backcountry camping is allowed. Campsites must be at least 150 feet away from the nearest road, trail, or body of water.Camping for more than three nights or in groups of ten or more requires a permit from a Forest Ranger. No trash pickup is provided. These are carry-in, carry-out facilities.Lean-to Camping :There are five Adirondack-style lean-tos at four different locations. Lean-tos must be shared to their capacity on a first-come, first-use basis, with no exclusive reservation allowed.Buck Settlement Lean-to on the Finger Lakes Trail north of Templar Road and near Glen Creek;Parks Hollow Lean-to on Mohawk Trail, north of Sugar Hill Road;the Twin Lean-to's (Sugar Hill Lean-to #1 and #2) - on Seneca Trail, south of the Sugar Hill Rec Area;and VanZandt Lean-to - on Seneca Trail, east of Tower Hill Road.No trash pickup is provided. These are a carry in-carry out facilities.

One of the premier Willow Running events is in Montour Falls (Watkins Glen), NY. There will be various race distance on the beautiful Catharine Valley Trail to choose from including the 18M, a great training run for those gearing up for a fall marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5 K distances. The trail is an old Rail Trail that is well maintained all year and easy to navigate with a slight elevation gain heading out and a slight elevation decline heading back to the finish line.
Post race enjoy a fun filled celebration with music, food and drinks.

A Charity Race for The Arc Chemung-Schuyler
Watkins Glen International proudly presents the 13th Year of The Arc Grand Prix Run/Walk Event! This event is a 3.4 and 6.8 mile footrace on the internationally acclaimed motor racing track in Watkins Glen, New York in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. The event includes a 1-mile "Pit Road Walk" for those who would prefer to walk a shorter distance.
There will be free beer tasting for all participants. (Underage participants will be served root beer, birch beer, and ginger ale for their tastings). After the race, there will be family friendly activities will be held at the American Legion.

Peasantman is brought to you by First Knight Racing - managed by certified USAT Race Director/Official Joe McMahon. It's an officially sanctioned USA Triathlon event that takes place on the third Sunday of every August at Indian Pines Park in Penn Yan, right in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York.
Our own 'Steel Distances' are just slightly longer than traditional triathlon distances, due to a longer bike course.
Since 2013, Peasantman has contributed over $44,000 to several organizations in the Penn Yan area. Most of these organizations are present on race day helping to bring you this event!

Join us for our second annual fast-paced indoor triathlon at the Y!
This sprint-style event is great for first-timers and seasoned athletes alike. Participants will swim in our 25-yard pool, bike on a spin bike, and run on a treadmill — each for a set amount of time. Distances in each discipline will be recorded to determine your overall results.
The format will be as follows
10-minute swim
10-minute transition from swim to bike
20-minute bike
5-minute transition from bike to treadmill
10-minute treadmill
Athletes as young as 8 are welcome. Anyone under 16 must have a guardian on-site (guardians are welcome to participate too). All participants under 12 must complete and pass the YMCA swim test at least one week prior to the event (by Sunday, November 1) and should be able to continuously swim for 10 minutes. Heats will be assigned and sent out as the event approaches.
The event will tentatively take place on Sunday, November 8 and the first heat will start at 9am. Check in will start earlier. (This date is subject to change until early September)

The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Chemung County Senior Games Intergenerational 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, October 17th at 9:00 AM! Starts and Finishes at the North End of Seneca Lake at the Popular Finger Lakes Welcome Center
Enjoy a beautiful summer day at Seneca Lake, running through the City and Town of Geneva, experiencing their lake and countryside, along with its varying terrain. Finishing and starting right at the lake to experience the grandeur of the NY Finger Lakes. For the Half Marathon, Go solo in the 13.1 miles or find a friend and do the relay, splitting the course in half between relay members. The 5K will be two loops within the City of Geneva Park starting and finishing at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center.
According to the Colon Cancer Coalition, colon cancer is the 4th most common cancer in the U.S. and the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths. Early detection can make all the difference!
Strollin' for the Colon is proud to hold Toni's Race for its 15th year. The event will be held again at Stewart Lodge in Mendon Ponds Park. As with past years there will be a USATF certified (NY23008KL) 5k race to be immediately followed by a 1-mile walk. Strollin' for the Colon is a non-profit organization with the mission to raise funds to support those who are fighting colorectal cancer. Proceeds from this event will go to patients and their families who have financial needs resulting from treatment, agencies that provide education about the importance of early screening for colon cancer, as well as offer seed funding for research to beat this disease.
Along with the race and walk there is a fun run and other activities for kids. There is fun, music, food and the opportunity to win great prizes! Also attending are physicians and vendors to provide information and answer any questions about colon cancer and any related topics.

Bampa’s House has announced that they will be sponsoring the Ninth Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Craig Park in Painted Post, NY. The purpose of the race is to raise money for Bampa’s House and celebrate the life of Jim Dugan, the namesake of Bampa’s House. Jim, who was called Bampa by his grandchildren, was a life-long resident of the Corning-Painted Post area, spending his career at Corning Community College, volunteering through the Lions Club, and facilitating beer tastings at The Site.
Participants are encouraged to run or walk the 3.1 mile course that includes the beautiful Painted Post Trail and winds through the streets of Painted Post where Jim lived. Alternatively, for those who cannot or choose not to participate in person, participants can join us virtually! Just send us your time and we will mail you your t-shirt for participating!
Become a fundraiser for Bampa’s House! You can collect donations through your own fundraising page just for participating. It’s easy to set up!
All proceeds from the race will go to Bampa’s House. Bampa’s House (Corning Comfort Care, Inc.) is a non-profit organization that serves the Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler county areas and focuses on providing a safe and comfortable place for people to receive end-of-life care when home care is not an option.
