The Sneaker Store's Jessica Cooper St. Patrick's Day Mad Mile presented by Standard is the best way to kick off a great St. Patrick's Day! Bring your family, friends, and your best Irish outfit, and get ready to dash down Genesee Street just ahead of the Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade. With a built-in cheering crowd, this one-mile course with elevation drop will get you revved up to enjoy the day's festivities.
The race kicks off at 9:45 am sharp on Saturday, March 14th. We'll gather for the Start on Clinton Place at Genesee Street, and move to the start line at 9:40 am. As you can expect road closures and delays, please plan accordingly for parking and extra time to walk to the start. We cannot delay the start as the parade goes off at 10:00. Please be aware of your surroundings, as parade floats will be lining up near the start line. The 1-mile race course is a straight shot down Genesee Street (hello, downhill!), ending at Columbia Street where we will gather for results (TNT Timing) and prizes (Courtesy of The Sneaker Store). You can then relax, enjoy the parade (we have a perfect view from our finish line area!), and maybe even wander down to Varick Street for some more celebrating!
A portion of the proceeds will go to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade put on by the Great American Irish Festival. The Irish Festival's mission is to promote Irish culture, history, dance, language, etc. The corporation’s purpose is solely for charitable and educational efforts. This is a race you can feel good about entering! Register now at an all-time low for just $20* -- don't wait, the price goes up to $30 on race day!
*$20 is for the RACE ONLY. This year, the awesome Craft Tech Tee is OPTIONAL but available as a $15 add-on.
Registration:
-
Pre-Register Online at RunSignUp.com. Cost is $20 and does NOT include a shirt. The cost with shirt is $35.
-
Register In Person at the Sneaker Store on 3/13 OR near the start line on Clinton Place on Saturday, 3/14. Cost is $35 with no shirt.
Packet Pickup:
-
Friday, March 13th from 4:00-7:00 at The Sneaker Store, 24 Genesee St., New Hartford.
-
Saturday, March 14th from 8:30-9:15 near the start line on Clinton Place near Genesee Street.
-
We strongly encourage registrants to pick up race packets on Friday, as it is imperative that the race starts on time. If you must pick up your race packet on Saturday, please plan extra time for parking and lines.
Special Note Regarding Weather/Cancellations - If the Utica St. Patrick's Day Parade is postponed or cancelled for any reason, the St. Patrick's Day Mad Mile race and packet pick-ups will be postponed or cancelled along with the parade, and refunds cannot be issued. Please dress festively, but appropriately for weather conditions!
The Mad Mile is dedicated to our dear friend, Jessica Cooper, who ran her first ever race at the 2019 Mad Mile and rocked it. We hope you'll join us and run your best race in her memory, whether it's your first or your five hundredth race, give it your best and finish with a smile. All donations made to the race will go directly to the Jessica Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mount Markham CSD.

The Utica Roadrunners are happy to announce the return of The Grateful For Graham 5K Run/Walk! Graham Robertello is a 6 year old boy who was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - a rare genetic disorder where the body is unable to produce a critical protein that binds the layers of skin together. This results in the skin tearing, blistering, and even shearing off. The wounds that result are severely painful, can lead to disfigurement, and some (they can also be internal) may never heal. There is no cure for EB at this time, but with everyone's support in the past 5 years, we finally have the first THREE FDA approved treatments for the effects of EB! A cure is in sight... Join us in the fight to find a cure for EB once and for all!
All proceeds raised will go directly to the EB Research Partnership to help find a cure and additional treatments for EB!
The event will be a 5K "out and back" run and walk. The course is a fairly flat course along the Rayhill Memorial (Rt. 840) Trail, starting and finishing at the trailhead near BOCES on Middle Settlement Rd (see map below). Parking will be available in the nearby BOCES parking lot. Awards will be given to the fastest overall male and female participants (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and 1st place in each 10 year age group (teen groups will be ages 13 - 19, no age group awards for 12 and under).
All PAID registrations will include a 2026 Grateful for Graham t-shirt! Unfortunately, we are unable to provide shirts for free registrations (5 and under or virtual) or to ship for non local registrations. If local and planning to participate virtually but still want a shirt, please sign up for the in-person event and get your shirt at packet pickup. To guarantee a shirt & your desired size, registrations must be completed before April 10, 2026. We will do our best to accommodate your shirt request, but can not guarantee your selection after this date, so register early!!!
We will also continue the Stroller Division again for this year! Because Graham LOVES going out on runs in the stroller with mom, we invite you to join us for a friendly stroller competition! Awards will be given to the fastest female and male who participate pushing their child in a stroller.

In addition to innovative treatment, Sitrin offers the Military Civilian Coalition, designed to promote camaraderie, advocacy, educational opportunities, and transitional support to civilian life.
