  Held in conjunction with the Taste of Syracuse, Paige's Butterfly Run brings runners and walkers from across Central New York to downtown Syracuse each year to participate in one of the region’s premier 5K races. Our goal is to put on a stellar community event while raising the critical dollars necessary to fund local childhood cancer research and patient programs at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

  This year, Paige's Butterfly Run will be celebrating its 30th event on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in downtown Syracuse. This family friendly event includes:

  • 5K USATF certified race

  • 3K fitness run/walk

  • 5K Centipede Team Division

  • Caterpillar crawl for kids under 5 years old

  Your participation in Paige's Butterfly Run helps to support children and families fighting childhood cancer in Central New York. Proceeds from the event benefit the Dr. William J. Waters Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, Syracuse, New York.

  WHEN:

  Live Event: Saturday, September 26, 9:30 a.m.: Run 5K (3.1 miles) or One-mile Walk

  Virtual Event: Saturday, September 26, all day. Run or walk a 5K (3.1 miles) anytime between those dates and anywhere and then submit your time to the leaderboard.

  LOCATION:

  Live Event: Niland Athletics Complex/Dwyer Center For Health and Wellness at Le Moyne College / 1419 Salt Springs Road / Syracuse, NY 13214. The Le Moyne College Events Center is located off of Springfield Road, back entrance of campus /Athletics complex. The event will start and end here.

  Virtual: Anywhere

  REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

  Participants will have a few options. Sign up for the live, in-person, timed 5K event, the One-Mile walk (not timed), or the virtual event.

  Please note: Registration will be online only up through the race time. There will be no paper application and cash or credit card payment accepted on event day. Please come prepared with a Smartphone to register online if registering on event day.

  Group / Team Registration: Participants can sign up as groups/teams, e.g. Class Teams - Class of 2000.

  $25; includes a Dolphin Dash commemorative tee, while supplies last.

  $15 for the virtual Dolphin Dash; $10 additional for Dolphin Dash commemorative tee The shirt is mailed after the event.

  $10; The one-mile walk will not be timed,

  Special Pricing:

  To honor all the men and women who have served our country, Le Moyne is proud to offer $5.00 off race registration to active duty and retired military.

  Members of the following area running clubs will receive $5.00 discount off their registration:

  • Checkers AC Running Club (Buffalo)

  • Genesee Valley Harriers (Rochester)

  • Lake Effect Run Club (Syracuse)

  • Syracuse Chargers Track Club

  • Finger Lakes Runners Club

  The RunSignUp platform will recognize current members of the above groups and automatically discount the $5.00 off of the registration.

  All students will receive $5.00 discount off of their race registration.

  Non-Timed Awards:

  • Dolphin Spirit Award - Given to the participant(s) with the most school spirit ― so be sure to wear your GREEN and GOLD.

  • Longest Mile Award – Given to the participant who traveled the furthest distance to participate in the Dash.

  • The 'Phin Phamily Award - Given to the family with the highest number of family participants.

  Course Details and Map

  More information coming soon. The course will include pathways through campus as well as the roads on the perimeter of campus, e.g. Springfield Rd and Salt Springs Rd.

  GIVEAWAY: COMMEMORATIVE DOLPHIN DASH T-SHIRT

  Participants will receive a Dolphin Dash commemorative T-shirt. Commemorative t-shirts will be mailed to virtual participants following the conclusion of the event. Please allow between 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

  The cut-off date to guarantee your event shirt is September10. After that, shirts will not be guaranteed for registrants, but on a while supplies last basis.

  Event Shirt Pick Up: Participants can pick up their shirts on event day. For virtual participants, t-shirts will be mailed following the conclusion of the event. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

  Weather Policy:

  The Dolphin Dash Run/Walk will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site.

  Timing:

  Leone Timing not only provides timing for our 5K, but helps our event in many different ways. As a participant you will see them working on race day, but they also do a lot of behind the scenes work for our race starting from when registration opens. Thank you Leone Timing!

  The Syracuse Parks Conservancy joins the Syracuse Parks Department to bring you Syrathon 2026! SYRATHON brings together 8 established road races, all based in the City of Syracuse and spaced throughout the calendar year, into this unique road race series! Syrathon’s eight race routes showcase Syracuse’s incredible and historic parks systems as participants journey through a number of wonderful city neighborhoods. Since 2009, the Series has encouraged, for both beginners and seasoned runners, healthful physical activity year-round while promoting the sights and sounds of city life!

  The Syrathon Series Challenge again will challenge registered participants to accumulate at least 26.2 race miles over the course of the Series. Those who meet the challenge are known as Syrathoners, and will have earned the coveted Syrathon Medal! All registered participants receive a cool race shirt! And, there will be race day raffles for more great prizes!

  Free Bonus Fun Runs! During the Summer, you are welcome to log bonus miles (and have lots of fun) at Syrathon Bonus Fun Run events. Earn up to 3 bonus miles at each event!

  1. Wednesday June 17 on the Creekwalk (Inner Harbor); Check in between 4:30pm - 6:30pm

  2. Saturday July 18 in Upper Onondaga Park; Check in at the Firebarn between 9am and 10:30am

  3. Wednesday August 5 on the Creekwalk at Inner Harbor. Check in between 4:30 and 6:30

  • Race dates and formats are subject to change, based on current conditions. If fun runs are cancelled due to weather, you may run virtually on another day and report your miles

  To Participate in Syrathon and the Syrathon Challenge:

  1. Register on this site (runsignup) for the Syrathon Series Challenge beginning January 1.

  2. Visit the registration webpage for each of the individual races (listed above) that you choose to run; and complete their registration process

  3. For all of the series races in which you are registered, complete the race miles according to the format of each race. Note that some races continue to offer a virtual option as an alternative to in-person!

  4. Your completed race miles will be credited based on finisher lists provided by each race and/or the timing company. If you notice that some race miles weren't credited, please send an e-mail to the Syrathon coordinator (below). Visit the Syrathon webpage at www.syracuseparksconservancy.org or www.syr.gov/parks for more information and for updated mileage charts

  Note: Registration for the Syrathon Series Challenge ($10) does not include individual race registrations. Please visit the individual race pages to register for your chosen series races.
