Training for a 5K or 10K is as much about the people beside you as it is the miles behind you. We're here to help you with a smart training plan and a supportive group that's with you every step of the way!
Our 10-week 5K/10K training programs, which offer specialized tracks for both distances and are ideal for every level of experience, will help you scale up your distance with smart, steady progression. Our 5K program includes a run/walk training option, making it truly a beginner-friendly plan.
The groups will kick-off on Tuesday, 3/24, in preparation for The Big Run taking place on Wednesday, 6/3, at Gold's Gym LaGrange. With our programs, you'll have the coaching, the plan, and the people to get you to the finish line! We'll hold our group training kickoff meeting on Tuesday, 3/24, in the evening, and we suggest that if you sign up, you make every effort to attend. We find that participants who come to this meeting are more likely to stick with the program!
Please note: Registration for The Big Run is a separate fee. As a thank-you for joining our training program, you'll receive a $5 discount code to use toward your race registration! We’re keeping the "fast and flat" course you crave but doubling down on the "After-Party." Expect more than just a finish line—we’re talking a full-blown festival with local eats, music, photo-op stations to flex those medals, and a few new surprises we’re keeping under wraps.
6:30 PM: 10K start – Let’s go, long-distance crew!
6:45 PM: 5K start – Squad up and hit the trail!
Everything is chip-timed and USATF-certified, so you get the professional race feel with the neighborhood block party soul.
