Come join us for a spring event to welcome the turkey vultures to our small town. Around mid-march the vultures can be seen circling over the cemetery. You will frequently see their wings outstretched soaking in the sun's rays...hence the name of our 5K. The route passes by the cemetery where you will see them most frequently either roosting in the trees or circling in the

The Ward Mountain Scramble Trail Run is located 15 minutes outside of Ely, Nevada. It is predominately all single track with a little bit of ATV trail on Forest Service lands. There will be three distances: 2.0, 5.5, 8.5, and 13.3 mile courses. For an extra $5, participants 13 years and older can run with a leashed dog.

Fresh off of the release of the new Ely Gravel Adventure Field Guide, The Rotary Club of Ely is excited to expand gravel cycling in Nevada by producing the second annual Tour de Schell, a gravel race through Nevada's copper country. Cyclist will get the option to choose from 4 routes that will showcase some of the finest gravel in Nevada. Distances include: Long Distance 118 mi. 5,438 ft of gain, Medium Distance 81 mi. 4,084 ft of gain, Short Distance 64 mi. 3,575 ft of gain, and the Fun Course Dstance 47 mi. 1,556 ft of gain. GPS of the routes and maps coming soon. Participants will be treated to western hospitality on and off the course with food, drinks, music, and activities at the event and things to do throughout the community all weekend.
