DRRT Technical Trails Workshop #2- Sterling Edition
This workshop focuses on finding flow on the trails. We'll tackle the McKeags Meadow trail in Sterling Forest and hone in our techniques for
cornering in berms, and pumping for momentum.
We'll do a quick review of body position and cornering techniques before we hit the trail to find our flow
We move at your pace. If the group is crushing it, we push further. If we need more time on the basics, we take it. That's the beauty of a clinic built around you.
Come for the skills. Stay for the stoke.
When: Sunday, June 21
Time: 10 am - 2 pm
Where: Tuxedo, NY
Cost: $200/per person
Space is limited to 8 participants – be sure to register early!
A mountain bike in good working condition is required. Helmet required. Flat pedals, elbow and knee pads recommended.
This workshop takes place rain or shine.
About DRRT:
Dirt Rock n Root Training's owner Kathi Krause has been around the bike block – from velodrome and road racing to cyclocross, XC and finally her true love: downhill. She spent a decade on the Pro downhill circuit, stacking up three Masters World DH Championships, five national titles and a win at the legendary Kamikaze Downhill.
After 25 years of racing, Kathi shifted gears to coaching and founded Dirt Rock n Root Training in 2011 . Since then, she's been helping riders find their flow on everything from lift-accessed bike parks to rocky, rooty singletrack. You'll find her leading her Technical Trail series of clinics in North Jersey or running women's clinics at Mountain Creek Bike Park. Her mission? Simple: Get more women and kids on bikes, help them crush fear and build a community that rides hard and supports harder.
When not coaching, you can find Kathi out doing what she loves most - shredding the rocks and roots of NJ or dropping into her home trails at Mountain Creek Bike Park.

It Takes A Borough (ITAB) is honored to host the annual FUCE 5K Family Fun Run/Walk in Mike Fuccile’s memory. On September 4, 2008, Mike Fuccile was murdered on his way to work in Jersey City where
he served as a chief compliance officer for Merrill Lynch. Mike left behind his wife of ten years, Nancy, and their three children; Michael, Jack and Brooke. In 2009, The Fucille Foundation was established to help local families impacted by tragedy and it continued to do so until the end of 2023 when it passed its torch to ITAB. ITAB, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to encouraging community solidarity, relies on financial contributions and tangible donations to create meaningful, positive impacts on members of its community affected by tragedy or unforeseen circumstances.
The tradition continues this year in dowtown Metuchen! For a preview of the certified course, please visit ittakesaborough.com.
Join us on Father's Day, June 21st at 8:30 AM to participate in this community event.
You have the option of an officially timed 5K race (a bib with a timing chip), an untimed 5k run/walk or a virtual run/walk. If you are NOT interested in your timed results and are attending the event in person, please choose the 5k run/walk. This option provides more funds to the organization as the cost for untimed bibs are slightly less. We are unable to provide an officially timed event for virtual participants, but you can still submit your results.
Virtual 5K - You may choose to participate virtually in the FUCE 5K by requesting this option. ITAB will provide a race day material pickup option for you.
5K Electronically Timed Run - This 5K run will begin at 8:30am. It is a multi-surface 5K route that begins and ends in downtown Metuchen. You may choose to switch events at any time after registering.
5K Fun Run/Walk - The Fun Run/Walk will also begin at 8:30 and follow the same route as the 5K Timed Run. However, this option will not be timed. You may choose to switch events at any time after registering and before 8:00am on race day.
If you chose to participate as a Family Supporter, formerly Family/Family Plus Sponsorship, individual members can participate in any option. We ask that if none of the members of your family wish to be timed or you will not be joining us for the event, that you choose the "Family Supporter - No Timed Runners" option. This will allow for more of your contribution to go directly to families in need.
All participants will receive a race day numbered bib. Registrations received by 11:59 PM on 5/15 will receive a T-Shirt. Registrations after 5/15 are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

SCHOLARSHIP CHARITY FUND
Affectionately referred to as "The Master of Disaster" and "God," Deputy Chief Raymond M. Downey, Commanding Officer of the Special Operations Command (SOC), died in the line of duty, while helping others escape from the fire and collapse scene of the twin towers at the World Trade Center on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The fire service was a major force in his life, as evidenced by his sterling career. He truly was a legend in his own time.
As a tribute to Chief Downey's legacy, his family has established the D.C. Raymond Downey Scholarship Charity Fund to keep his memory alive and to benefit the many organizations that Chief Downey cherished.

New Jersey Randonneurs' "GS1200" is a cloverleaf event based out of the East Windsor Holiday Inn near Princeton, in the middle of the state.
Day One is a very flat, skinny 400K loop down through the
cranberry bogs and blueberry farms of the Pine Barrens to Cape May, in the southeast corner of the state, and back.
Day Two is a moderately hilly, circular 300K loop, northeast to the Jersey Shore, where you can view Manhattan from the highest natural elevation on the Atlantic seaboard from Maine to the Yucatan, then south along the highest concentration of ocean boardwalks in the US, and back.
Day Three is a long, narrow 300K loop south, through the Pine Barrens to the Philly suburbs in the southwest corner of the state and back.
Day Four is a hilly 200K loop that heads northwest in the direction of the Delaware Water Gap and back, through small towns and farms reminiscent of New England.
This is an unsupported ride. There is no rider limit, but dependent on availability at the start/finish hotel (or one of the several nearby).
Randonneuring—non-competitive, long-distance cycling, where you follow a pre-planned route and attempt to finish within a set time-limit—is a great way to test your endurance, navigational skills, and fortitude.
The route can viewed at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47817242
Please Note: It is possible for riders to be out on the route beyond sunset. For those riders, lighting and reflective gear are required.
Please refer to the Rules for Lighting and Guidelines on Reflectivity
The full Randonneurs USA Rules for Riders may be found here.
