2 events in Frankford Township, New Jersey

The “Boots on The Ground” race consists of a 5k family-oriented, pet-friendly, fun walk or run, as well as a more demanding 10k run (twice around the 5k course) starting at 9:00 AM with an Honor Guard Salute. Hosted in incorporation by both Lt. Charles A. Meyer, American Legion Post 86, Newton, NJ, and Skylands Stadium, Augusta, NJ. The sports campus is perfectly suited for the race in that it is flat. The race route is primarily asphalt with some gravel or sand areas. Especially inside of the baseball field near the warning track.

Lt. Charles A. Meyer, American Legion Post 86, a community-oriented post, serves veterans and their families by directly supporting local homeless veteran organizations, the Boy Scouts of America, local student academic grants, and donations to local first responders.

Skylands Stadium, the home of the Sussex County Miners professional baseball team, is located in the heart of rural Sussex County in Augusta, New Jersey. The stadium and surrounding facilities have been recently renovated, offering exciting sporting events, tradeshows, and fun, affordable family entertainment all year round. Amenities include:

The event aims to raise awareness and support for our veterans. Both Lt. Charles A. Meyer, American Legion Post 86, and Skylands Stadium believe veterans transitioning back to civilian life appreciate and deserve the support of a welcoming community. The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAR) is proud to have their 2nd Annual Superhero Run for Scholarships. Each year, the New Jersey Realtors® Educational Foundation offers annual scholarships to help local High School and College students meet the costs of higher education. Students are eligible for these scholarships if they are high school seniors who will be attending an undergraduate program, Technical School, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, or enrolled at an NJ community college. This 5K Run will be held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on a USATF Certified Course that is fit for Superheroes! This must explain why so many plan on coming to the event dressed as their favorite Superheroes. Their will be Food Trucks, Games, Photo Ops, Face Painting, Bouncy Slide and More!!!

The 5K race is sanctioned by the USATF. Awards to top 3 Male/Female Finishers Overall. Also, Awards to top 3 Male/Female Finishers in the following Age Groups: 12 and under, 13-16, 17-19,20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69,70-79,80 and over.

We are happy to add a 1 Mile Fun Color Run this year!!! You get a white T-shirt to show off your true colors when you pre-register for the fun run. You can use the fun run as a warm up for the 5K or just an excuse to get good and messy! All ages welcome!!!
