Run Half Marathon
Nap Briye is organizing the Fifth "Barefoot Half Marathon" on the Sunday before Labor Day. Runners have the option to wear shoes or run barefoot from the Sterling Town Hall to the Shrewsbury High School track field on September 6th, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST.
Transportation will be available for those who will park at the finish line. The bus will leave Shrewsbury High School at 6:15 am to go to Sterling.
Pick up Bib on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Shrewsbury High School Track Field or on Sunday morning before the race.
The race course — which rises between 300-400 feet in elevation throughout the entire race — features views and scenery that capture perfectly the quaint, authentic feel of New England, taking runners through covered bridges with names like Thompson, Carlton and Cresson, most of which date to the pre-Civil War era.
The Swanzey Covered Bridges Half-Marathon, "Elijah's Race", is held each year in memory of its founder, Elijah Barrett. Elijah organized the event to raise funds to support the students of Monadnock Regional Middle-High School. He had attended MRMHS and eventually coached runners there.

T-Shirt guaranteed for every participant that registers by August 15th.
Custom participation medal for all runners.
Access to school locker rooms at start and finish of the race, as well as a couple of porta-potties along the course.

The Charlton Old Home Day 5-Mile Road Race is held annually on Labor Day weekend. The figure-8 race course starts and ends at the Charlton Town Common.
Spectators can view runners at the beginning of the race, halfway through, and at the finish! Most participants consider it a challenging, yet fun race due to the hilly nature of the course.
