BRAN 44 invites riders to experience the heart of Nebraska along the historic Cowboy Trail, traveling through the rolling Sandhills and alongside some of the state’s most scenic rivers. This unforgettable journey features iconic destinations including Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park, Smith Falls State Park, and The Nature Conservancy’s Niobrara Valley Preserve, while respectfully traversing the native lands of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska and the Santee Sioux Nation. A thoughtfully designed routes for paved and gravel roads offers quiet backcountry riding, expansive vistas, and a true sense of Nebraska’s wide-open spaces. Along the way, cyclists pass through the Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, encounter abundant wildlife, and share miles, stories, and laughter—building the camaraderie and community spirit that define the BRAN experience.
The BRAN 44 route includes overnight stays in designated campgrounds in Valentine, Springview, Spencer, Verdigre, Crofton, Wayne, Oakland, and Arlington. Riders may choose from 1-day, 3-day, 4-day, or the full 7-day ride, all of which are fully supported. Support includes roving and stationary SAG stops, professional bicycle shop mechanical support, daily free showers with complimentary towels, baggage transport, charging stations (including for e-bikes), and a variety of additional amenities. Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska, Inc. is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization with a long tradition of supporting Nebraska students through scholarship funding. Each overnight host community receives scholarship funds to award to a local student or students, and an additional scholarship is awarded to the “Best Host Town,” as voted by BRAN riders at the conclusion of the ride.

6-Hour time Limit - 6:00 AM Start.
For every mile run, $1 will go to benefit the Valentine Community Schools Foundation.
The race begins and ends at Bolo Beer. The plan is for the Ultra to go off at 6AM. The temps should be in the 50's and cap in the low 80's, however, if heat threatens, the entire schedule (below) will be moved up an hour.
