  COME LIGHT UP THE NIGHT WITH OUR NEW GLOW RUN

  WHEN AND WHERE: NEW LOCATION AND 5K COURSE! The Teens With a Mission (TWAM) 5K and Fun Run will be held in Salisbury, North Carolina, on the Greenway and Eagle Heights Neighborhood on Friday evening, May 2nd 2025. Race start and finish are at Overton Elementary School.

  The Half Mile Glow Run will be on the Greenway start at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 5K at 7:00 p.m. It is designed to appeal to walkers, joggers, casual runners, competitive runners and elite runners.

  RACE COURSE (See Course Map Below):

  • Half Mile Fun Run: Will be an out and back on the greenway. The greenway will be lined with our Teens with a Mission Youth Group Cheering your fun runner on.

  • TWAM 5K Course: The course starts at Overton at approximately 1900 West Park Drive. The start is at the second driveway to the school, the one nearest the baseball field. Runners will go southwest on West Park to a turnaround which is at approximately 1635 West Park Rd, then runners will come back toward the school and then turn right at Hickory Drive, left on E. Park Road, right on W. Park Road, enter Greenway, along the Greenway to Prescott Drive, turn left on Prescott, turn right on Knollwood, turn left on Courtland Drive, turn left on Wake, turn right back onto Prescott. Proceed to end of Prescott, turn around at cul-de-sac and proceed back straight on Prescott and turn right on the Greenway back toward Overton. Turn left on E. Park Road, left on Hickory Drive then continue straight across West Park to the finish line beside the nearest pole on the breezeway at Overton.

  PROCEEDS: All funds raised during this event will go to the work of Teens With A Mission, who work to help families in need and reach out to the community to share God’s love. Keep pounding! Hammers for runners! Houses for families in need!

  RACE DAY CHECK-IN AND REGISTRATION: 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. on site. 5K ($30) and Fun Run ($20).

  AWARDS:

  • 5k Run/Walk - Top 3 Overall Female and Male, Top Masters Male & Female (40 & Over), 3 Deep Age Group Awards Male and Female. Top Overall Male and Female runners will each receive dinner for 2 and 2 tickets to a Downtown Production. Masters, 1st & 2nd Age Group winners receive our one of a kind hammer award. 3rd place will receive a TWAM 5K Medal. Overall Winners not eligible for Age Group Awards.

  • 1/2-Mile Fun Run - Top 3 Overall age 12 and under, Medals to all other fun run finishers

  • Awards will not be mailed. Please make arrangements to pick up.

  AGES: 5K Run and Walk Age Groups - 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

The Ed Dupree Scholarship is awarded yearly to a male and female senior student athlete at East Rowan High School. The one time award is $2,000.

  5K Age Groups: 5K top overall male and female, top overall masters male and female, & top 3 male and female age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over.

  Fun Run : Top 3 runners will receive a trophy (all fun runners will receive a medal)

  Myles for a Mission 5K - The mission of the 5k is to raise awareness of childhood drowning prevention. This race is held to honor the memory of Myles Davis Pope. Myles tragically passed away just shy...

  Myles for a Mission 5K - The mission of the 5k is to raise awareness of childhood drowning prevention. This race is held to honor the memory of Myles Davis Pope. Myles tragically passed away just shy of his 2nd birthday due to a drowning accident. Our mission is to raise money and awareness to prevent and educate others of childhood drownings. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, and the second leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 5-14.

  Children five years old and younger are especially vulnerable, representing 75% of child drowning deaths. Boys are also more than twice as likely to drown as girls.

  All proceeds will be donated to the Myles Davis Pope Memorial Fund. Our mission is to provide funding for survival swim instruction for children 6 years and under whose parents cannot afford the lessons otherwise, to provide CPR/First Aid and AED certification for individuals 8 years and older and to provide other lifesaving water safety education to families to help prevent children from drowning. Together, we can help prevent childhood drowning. Please help us spread prevention by supporting the 5K.

  Race Course (see course map below): Runners and walkers will enjoy a 3.1 mile road course starting from Grace Lutheran Church parking lot and turning into the gently rolling neighborhood of Grace Ridge to loop through all three neighborhood phases of Grace Ridge. This race is for recreational runners and walkers as well as competitive runners.

  The fun run course will be held on Grace Lutheran property.

  Awards - 5K: Overall Top 3 Male & Female and Overall Masters Male & Female awards will be given. The top 3 runners in each of the following divisions will receive awards: Male and Female ages 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over.
