MSH Run Club BEER MILE CHALLENGE
Saturday, March 14 @ 11am
Matthews Social House
105 W. Charles St
Matthews, NC 28105
The MSH Run Club’s BEER MILE CHALLENGE is back just in time to kick off St. Patrick's Day weekend on Saturday, March 14 @ 11am.
You don’t want to miss this classic race challenge and enjoy bragging rights with your friends and assorted strangers.
For the low price of $12 registration you get the requisite 4 cans of Labatt Blue beer required to participate in the 1 MILE race loop around the block at Matthews Social House. Additionally, you will also have the option to purchase an event t-shirt during registration for an additional $16.
For those not yet initiated in this classic albeit insane little run challenge, you consume (chug really) a 12oz can of Labatt’s beer, hold said empty can over your head to prove consumption, then race a quarter mile (your mileage may vary if you stumble), return to starting line and repeat the process for a total of 4 beers and 1 Mile.
Can you chug & run?
Registration gets you a Race BIB and the 4 cans of Labatt beer.
The BIBS and entry will be confirmed on RACE day so arrive no later than 10:45am Saturday, 3/14 to get your BIB and ready yourself for the race.
The very cold beer will be dispensed at the start and at each quarter mile you complete by our specially trained Beer Mile Challenge professionals.

Things to Know
- What if it rains?
In the event of inclement weather, we may choose to reschedule or cancel the event. You will receive updates via email the week of the event, so make sure to check your SPAM folder!
- What bike should I ride?
Any mountain bike will do! Hardtails, full suspension, e-mountain bikes, they are all welcome at Beatty. If you're not sure if your bike is suitable, feel free to drop an email to Caroline ([email protected]) or stop by your local bike shop.
- Will there be bikes available at the event?
We will not have any rental or demo bikes at this event. HOWEVER, many local bike shops rent bikes. If you need help finding the best bike shop close to you, please email Caroline ([email protected])
- What about protection?
Helmets are required at this event. If you do not have a helmet, please email Caroline ([email protected]) and we will round one up for you!
- Are there easy trails?
Yes! Beatty is a park to start your mountain biking journey. There is an easy Green loop around the park as well as a pump track to help you learn!
- I'm an advanced rider. Is this event for me?
Yes! Simply put: riding bikes with other women+ is magic. Is this a bike park with massive jumps and rock gardens? No, but that doesn't mean you won't find something to challenge you and new friends to help you conquer it. This event will be located right at the pump track, which offers a challenge for all levels (even some jumps and a wall ride!). The trail itself has many features that are both fun and challenging.
