The Hearts for Missions 5K is being held on behalf of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church’s Missions Group. The proceeds from this walk/run/race will go toward efforts that aid in providing resources for the following:
· Cleveland County Rescue Mission
· Relief efforts in and around the Asheville, NC area affected by Hurricane Helene
· Guatemala Missions supporting the Colegio Innovando Sonadores (Innovating Dreamers School) for children, Casa De Dios (House of God) an orphanage for abandoned disabled children, Hogar Gloria De Dios (Home Glory of God) a rest home for the abandoned and mentally challenged elderly
· Christmas at the Ridge which allows parents of vetted under-privileged children to come in and select items for their child/children that would otherwise receive nothing for Christmas
· Just to name a few…
In Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, he addressed and spoke about several things. Two of which were “running a race” and “competing in the games”. For example:
1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:28 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Sure! In this 5K there will be prizes. HOWEVER, for the purpose of this 5K, it doesn’t matter if you’re first or last. WHY? Because the “PRIZE or CROWN” that you will receive for helping GOD’s people/children or potentially bringing someone to Jesus Christ will be eternal.
In Matthew 6:20-21 Jesus said, “20 But store up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Award Structure is as follows: Top 3 male and female overall, Top 3 male and female 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59. 60-69, and 70 and over.
5K will be professionally timed by Finish Well Timing who will be donating their services.
The course is a fast and flat course starting and ending at Chestnut Ridge Church.

The Turkey Trot 5K is a family-favorite tradition that takes place on Thanksgiving morning before all of the festivities begin for the day. Be sure to bring your friends and family so that you can wobble before you gobble!
The 5K begins at the LYCC of Gardner-Webb University and the race route goes throughout the beautiful town of Boiling Springs. Running a race that matters this holiday season is what the Turkey Trot is all about; all proceeds from the race go to the YMCA's We Build People Scholarship Fund so that we can provide financial assistance to those in need so that they can have access to the YMCA. We can't wait to see you there!
