From big races to Saturday morning group runs—find gravel events and connect with the local endurance sports community.
The MT Alpha Race Team is open to riders of all bike disciplines: mountain, gravel, road, cyclocross, enduro, and anyone excited about pinning on a number. Our goal is to create a supportive, inclusive environment where women and non-binary riders can challenge themselves, grow their skills, and show up confidently on start lines across the region.
Whether it’s your first race season or your fifteenth, you belong here.
What We Ask From Race Team Members
To keep our community strong, connected, and moving forward together, team members commit to:
Racing a minimum of five race days throughout the season (any discipline)
Volunteering at least twice during the year
One of these volunteer events will likely be a local music event fundraiser (details coming soon)
Maintaining at least a Basic MT Alpha membership
These commitments help us build visibility in the community, support the club’s programming, and ensure we can continue empowering riders of all levels.
What Race Team Members Receive
As part of the MT Alpha Race Team, you’ll enjoy a variety of perks designed to support your training, racing, and community involvement:
Discount on Skratch nutrition products
Free or discounted team jersey
Team support at key races (based on the race team schedule)
$200 off a bike fit with Ascend Sports Medicine during the winter months
Monthly team rides (1 minimum during the season April - September), plus skills and training opportunities
The chance to serve as a leader and mentor for riders who are new, “race curious,” or just building confidence
The satisfaction of knowing that more women+ and non-binary athletes will be on start lines in 2026 because of your presence and example
Why Join the Race Team?
Beyond the perks, the MT Alpha Race Team is about showing up for yourself and for each other. We’re here to make racing more accessible, more fun, and more welcoming — because the more representation we have at start lines, the more the cycling community grows and changes for the better.
If you’re ready to ride up to a start line, support your teammates, and help shape the next generation of riders, we’d love to have you on the team.

This race takes place in Missoula, in March. What does that mean for participants? It means you never know what kind of weather we're going to have or what the weather will decide to drop on the streets as it passes through (i.e., snow sleet, rain, etc.). Be prepared for potentially slippery surfaces, potholes (watch for puddles), uneven surfaces, and loose sand and gravel! We will include more specific recommendations in accordance with the weather in our pre-race notes email, the day before the race.
After your 5k or 7 miler, join us inside the Culinary Building for some post-race food and beverage!
The focus is on fun, adventure, skill development, and building confidence through biking. We have a variety offerings for our cycling community. See what works best for your shredder!!!!
