From big races to Saturday morning group runs—find wheelchair events and connect with the local endurance sports community.
Join us for the Gulf Coast Beer & Bacon 5K in Long Beach, MS on May 9, 2026. All proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Mississippi Heroes which celebrates Caregivers from all walks of life including Nonprofessional Family Caregivers along with Professional Caregivers and Heroes including Policemen, Nurses, Doctors, Firemen, Military, EMT. The funds from this race will go back into the community to build wheelchair ramps for Veterans, Disabled & Seniors in need. We would love for everyone to walk in support of their favorite caregiver or dress in attire such as bacon, a pig, or your favorite beer costume.
RACE DETAILS:
General Information:
$35.00 to participate in 5K, with medal and t-shirt to all participants. If you signup a group and name your group under fundraising, you can register for $25.00. $10 to just run/walk and support - no t-shirt, no number, just come and enjoy. Water & snacks for all.
COURSE: The course will start and end in Long Beach, course map to come.
5K AWARDS: All paying participants will receive a medal. Grand Trophies go to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female runners, and top winners in the following age divisions: 12 & Under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+
There will also be awards for the top Best Costumes: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall. And best animal costume.
