Soul City Cycling gives back to the community....
During our past events, Soul City Cycling has donated portions of our proceeds to worthy causes, including Grace Place, a morning shelter for the homeless and marginalized in our community. This year and going forward, Soul City Cycling will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation. As we move forward with future events and club activities, we will support the Mississippi Sickle Cell Foundation in their mission of “Breaking the Silence, Giving Voice to the Cause, Working to Find a Cure”.
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is the most common genetic disease in the United States. SCD affects approximately 100,000 Americans. SCD occurs in 1 out of every 365 Black or African American births. SCD occurs among about 1 out of every 16,300 Hispanic American births. Worldwide, approximately 300,000 infants are born with sickle cell anemia annually. About 3000 people are living with sickle cell disease in the state of Mississippi.

5k start times are as follows: 8 am, 1030 am, 1 pm, 330 pm, 6 pm, 830 pm, 11 pm, 130 am, 4 am, 630 am. The final 5k must be completed by 8 am on Sunday.

This event takes place in summer in Mississippi and the weather can be a major factor. There will be no on-course aid station, so runners will want to carry a handheld or other hydration equipment.
In between 5ks, we will cook food, play games, rest and relax to get ready.
Participant limits: Initially, we will have 75 spots open for registration. After those 75 fill up, anyone wishing to register will be placed on the waitlist. However, this is not guaranteed, so don't wait to get signed up!
New categories for this year! Expanded women's age groups in Cat 2 XC and expanded age groups for men and women in Cat 3 XC. New for this year is a Just for Fun category that is one lap of the Cat 3 XC course. This is different from the First Timers race in that it isn't timed and there will not be a podium for the Just for Fun. The First Timers will be timed and there is a trophy for first place and 3 deep podium!

Come one, come all! Join us in the 8th annual, rousing, holly-jolly race through the heart of Clinton’s decorated downtown!
Yule Run Clinton is a combined 5k walk/run and 8k run through Clinton's historic Olde Towne! The race dashes and dances from Jefferson Street to Clinton Boulevard, which takes runners through the route of the annual city-wide Christmas parade. This year's run begins at 7:00am, but we hope not to see anyone running as frantically as gingerbread men! The race concludes at 10am, allowing the entire family to wind down by enjoying the parade immediately following the race. If you can't make it in person, the Clinton Chamber offers a virtual race option for participants who would love to join the fun from a distance! Regardless of the way you race, you'll get all the holiday feels in this year's Yule Run Clinton!
Details
All early bird and regular registration participants will receive a race t-shirt, finisher medal, and a participant packet (swag bag)! Virtual participants may choose to pick up their bag in person or have it shipped by the Clinton Chamber. Tees and medals will not be mailed, so in-person race participants must pick up their race packet before the event or on site of the race. While every effort will be made to offer late registrants' tees, medals, and packets, we cannot guarantee any of these items. Additionally, there are no refunds for registrations or extra tees purchased. We strongly encourage you to register early and carefully to ensure the best race experience! Packet pickup will be 8:30a-4:30p on Friday, December 5 at the May and Company (806 Oakwood Drive) or on race day at the registration tent starting at 6:00am.
The race takes place on an open course. We have coordinated the route and important intersections with the Clinton Police Department; however, there is potential for traffic to be on the course with the runners.
Extra Information for In-Person Participants
We encourage in-person participants to be mindful of the weather, as the race takes place outdoors in winter with unpredictable Mississippi weather. If you are visiting from out of town, please remember to check our local weather for our area prior to attending. In the event of inclement weather, in-person participants will be able to collect their t-shirts and finisher medals at the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and will have the option of continuing their participation virtually. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for registrations or extra tees purchased.
Parking is available for this event in the lot located at the corner of Jefferson Street and Madison Street. There is no fee for parking, but please review the digital event information packet that will be distributed to all participants closer to the event time for any changes or updates. Participants will need to check in with race staff when they arrive at the event: please bring your ID and printed registration ticket with you for check-in. NO PETS are allowed at this event, but strollers are permitted on the course. Keep in mind that the terrain varies as the course goes over both asphalt and brick roads. There is not a designated location to store personal belongings, so please leave any items or valuables at home or in your car.
