  Beat the heat and kick off your morning with the Summer Scramble 5K/10K, a fun midsummer race hosted by Chasing Happiness Race Co.

  The race will start at the UCM Soccer Stadium on DD Highway in Warrensburg, Missouri and take runners onto the Spirit Trail, a paved running and walking path that makes for a smooth and accessible course for runners and walkers of all levels.

  Whether you're chasing a PR, getting in a summer training run, or just looking for a great way to start your Saturday morning, the Summer Scramble is designed to be simple, fun, and welcoming for everyone.

  The paved Spirit Trail makes this a great race for beginners, experienced runners, and families alike.

  The 25th annual Run for Freedom 5K and 10K, sponsored by the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League (VAL), will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Runners...

  The 25th annual Run for Freedom 5K and 10K, sponsored by the West Central Missouri Veterans Assistance League (VAL), will be at 8 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg. Runners from all over West Central Missouri and Eastern Kansas participate in this event to help enhance the lives of the veterans who live at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

  This event offers a 5K and 10K run that is USATF certified and uses a professional timing company to document running times. Participants are allowed to walk the race as well and is family-friendly.

  Medals are presented to the top three finishers in each age category for the run by the veterans who live at the home. They love being able to give back to those who are instrumental in making the final chapters of their lives better.

  Proceeds from this event go towards programs that improve the quality of life for our veterans. This includes everything from receiving prize money at every bingo game held, enjoying an ice cold beer or glass of wine at our weekly happy hour, listening to the sound of live music, tasting amazing food like steak, shrimp and lobster and going on outings all over Missouri.

  This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who have done so much for our freedom and for our country. Come Run for Freedom!

Our certified trail loops around the 100-acre Williams Creek Lake, weaving through forested paths dressed in fall colors. It’s an ideal course for all paces; whether you’re aiming for a personal record, walking with friends, or taking breaks to enjoy the lake and the vibrant fall setting.
