Rumble on Route 66
Sunday, May 31, 2026
Here's a chance to race on a hidden gem in the Northern Ozarks. Forest City Trails are just a short drive from St. Louis, Springfield, Jeff City and Columbia. The Rumble on Route 66 race course uses the best the trail network has to offer: Short fast fire-road, slick rock, rocky climbs, flowing pine forest - all in one 7 mile lap (11 miles for Marathon)!
This is a fund raiser event. Proceeds are going back to the trail fund, the new Ozarks United Composite Youth Cycling Team, and the rest is blessed and goes back into supporting our cycling community. Direct donation options for Forest City Trail and Ozarks United Composite are available under merchandise.
We are once again doing online registration only. Online registration fees are covered in the published registration price. Be sure to get registered!

Popular Questions:
Will there be aid stations? No you will need to bring or purchase every thing you need to survive.
What type of bike will I need? That is up to you! As race director, I believe a gravel bike with a minimum of 45mm tires will be needed. I would not recommend a road bike. Any mountain bike would work.
Is there a cut off time to finish? No - If you take longer than 72 hours you will be considered a finisher but no one will be at the finish line to meet you.
Will there be SAG if I can't finish? Yes, If you need help getting back to the finish line for any uncertain reason a SAG driver will be of assistance. Please understand you could be waiting a while if you are at the other end of the course. Once you decide you can not finish the course you are considered DNF. You are able to have help from any friends, team or family.
Where can I sleep on the course? Sleeping is always an option. Motels, AIRBB, VRBO, AND campsites are preferred. If you decide to sleep any where else know the law. Don't Trespass. Stay out of ditches. Be aware of your surroundings. You are welcome to sleep in a sag drivers vehicle.
Can I ride without a Spot Tracker? No, The Spot Tracker is not only for friends and family to follow you but also for safety.

Join us for the 10th Annual Piggyback Dash. Enjoy a beautiful, rolling course through the streets of Union with a challenging but rewarding finish at the top of Autumn Hill. The 10K and the 5K runners will start at the same time. The 5K is a single loop course. As the 5K runners make the last turn onto Autumn Hill Drive the 10K runners will continue straight and proceed to run an additional 3 miles through Union. Aid stations will be provided along the 5K and 10K routes. Post race refreshments will also be provided.
The 10K and 5K (ish) are chip timed events and medals will be awarded. The 2K (1.2 mile) fun run/walk will not be officially timed and no medals will be provided.
As an added twist, once runners reach the bottom of Autumn Hill they have the opportunity to carry someone piggyback up the hill to the finish line. This is completely voluntary. In no way is the piggyback portion required in order to finish. It doesn't matter who the person on your back is. They do not have to be a registered participant. Runners who do choose to carry someone piggyback up Autumn Hill will receive an extra piece of finisher swag. See our FAQ page for more details.
