Get ready to lace up your lucky running shoes and chase the leprechauns through the streets of Kirksville! The Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS) St. Patrick’s 5K & 1.5 Mile Walk/Run is back, bringing a shamrockin’ good time for a great cause. Whether you’re in it to win it or just out for some festive fun, there’s a race for everyone. Participants will enjoy a lively 5K run or a 1.5-mile walk/run, all while supporting the development and maintenance of the Forest Lake Area Trail System. Every step you take helps expand and improve local trails, creating a greener, healthier community. Dress in your best St. Paddy’s Day gear, bring your friends and family, and enjoy a festive day of fitness, fun, and philanthropy! March 17th from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Alternatively, you can pick up your race packet on March 17th from 4:00 – 5:00 PM at the Dukum Inn before the race.

🎆 Kick off your Independence Day weekend with a bang at the FLATS Uncle Sam 5K & 1.2 Mile Walk/Run! 🎆
Join us for a star-spangled morning of fitness, fun, and festivity as we celebrate America's birthday and support the Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS). Whether you're a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or a family looking for a fun walk, this event is for you!
🎽 Race Details
Start/Finish Line: Dukum Inn, 111 S Elson St, Kirksville, MO
Course: A mostly flat route through the charming streets of Kirksville, with a few gentle hills to keep things interesting.
Distances: 5K run and 1.2-mile walk/run, both starting simultaneously at 8:30 AM.
🎁 Registration & Perks
Entry Fee: $20 for early registration, deadline: July 1st - $25 for late registration July 2nd up to race day.
Packet Pickup: July 3rd from 12:00–8:00 PM at ATSU’s Thompson Campus Center (210 S. Osteopathy St.), or on race day at Dukum Inn starting at 7:30 AM.
Swag: All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, post-race refreshments, and a chance to win door prizes.
🏆 Awards & Divisions
Overall Trophies: Plaques awarded to the fastest male and female finishers in both the 5K, plaque awarded to top finisher in the 1.2-mile event.
Age Group Medals: Top three finishers in each age division (19 & under, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60+).
Post-Race Ceremony: Join us at Dukum Inn immediately after the race for awards, refreshments, and prize drawings.

The event will proceed rain or shine. In case of severe weather, organizers may delay the start or modify the course for safety. Participants are encouraged to assess conditions and make personal decisions regarding their participation.
