Yes, this 5K is absolutely free! In lieu of a registration fee, we ask that participants make a donation to support our mission. With just $20, you can sponsor a family for a two-night stay at Ronald McDonald House, providing them with the comfort, support, and resources they need to stay strong for their child. Did you know the average length of stay for a family is seven nights? Your generosity ensures that families can focus on what matters most – being together.

This event isn’t just about running – it’s about community involvement and coming together to make a difference. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or just looking for a fun way to spend your weekend, this 5K is for you! Bring your family, rally your co-workers, and let’s show our support for families with seriously ill children.

This St. Patrick's Day, wear your best green attire and run, jog, or walk your way to the finish line to help keep families close.

The Freeman 5K and 1-Mile Walk for Autism will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 8:00 am at Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism. The 5K and the walk will both begin at 8:00 am.

The Freeman 5K and 1-Mile Walk for Autism will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 8:00 am at Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism. The 5K and the walk will both begin at 8:00 am.

Packet Pickup at Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism:
- 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm Friday, April 17
- 6:45 am – 7:45 am Saturday, April 18
Entry Fees:
- 5K
- $35* (includes free T-shirt if registered by April 1)
- All participants receive a finishers medal.
- All payments final. No refunds.
- Walk for Autism:
- Adult walker with t-shirt: $25
- Adult walker: $15 (shirt is not included)
- Child walker with t-shirt (ages 3 – 12): $20
- Child walker (ages 3 – 12): $10 (shirt not included)
- Kids 2 and under walk for free!
- Price increases by $5.00 per event March 21.
Team Recognition
- Recognize Top Three Freeman Teams with most participants.
- Recognize Top Three Autism Teams with most funds raised. (For the purpose of the fundraising competition, online donations must be made by 11:59 pm on April 16, and cash/check donations will be accepted until 5:00 pm on April 17.)
Awards given to the top overall male and female plus first, second, and third in each age category.

Join us for the 2026 Run with the Pride 5K, hosted by the Missouri Southern State University Kinesiology Department and organized by students in the KINE 395 Practicum Class. This annual event brings together students, alumni, families, and the Joplin community to celebrate movement, education, and Lion pride.

Proceeds from the Run with the Pride 5K benefit the Lori Pflug Memorial Endowment Scholarship and support ongoing programs within the MSSU Kinesiology Department, helping future students pursue careers in health, fitness, and human performance.

Whether you’re racing for a PR, walking with friends, or cheering from the sidelines, this event is designed for all ages and abilities. Come out, get active, and support a great cause while showing your Lion pride.

JOPLIN'S FAVORITE FAMILY TRADITION IS BACK FOR ITS 14TH YEAR!

Welcome to the 15th Annual Joplin Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in Downtown Joplin presented by Freeman Health System! Runners and walkers are encouraged to join us on Thanksgiving morning for what has become a family tradition for many. This CERTIFIED 5K course begins and ends right in front of the Schroeder Family Exploreum, which is closed to traffic. Participants of the 5K will enjoy a super soft event shirt, AMAZING FINISHER MEDAL, chip timing, start/finish line announcing by BoCa Enterprises, music by Resonation, donuts, and coffee. As Joplin’s largest 5K, this is a race you don’t want to miss!
