The Filthy 50 is an annual gravel road cycling event that takes place on the gravel roads around Lanesboro, Minnesota on the second Saturday in October as the leaves on the trees begin to change. This is our 12th anniversary! There are 25 and 50 mile routes for our riders to choose from. All are welcome and encouraged. "Race it and set a record. Ride it and take in the beauty. Either way, get filthy." - Unknown
Check-In will run from 6pm - 9pm on Friday, October 9th at Sylvan Brewing and then again at Pedal Pushers Cafe from 7am - 9:30am on Saturday, October 10th. There are no additional check-in options nor are there any new "walk-up" registrations available at these times.
The Pretty Filthy 25 mile riders will leave downtown Lanesboro on Saturday, October 10th at 10am under police escort along with our 50 mile riders. They will follow the creek as they climb Grosbeak and Gentle eventually descending on Easy Street and then will turn south, following Gribben Creek out of the valley. After an epic return featuring Grit Road, it will be a hero’s welcome as they cross our finish line in the middle of downtown Lanesboro. This route features minimum maintenance roads, 1900+ feet of climbing, and some of the prettiest scenery you ever did see. If you haven’t attempted The Filthy before, we highly recommend that you start here.
The Filthy 50 mile riders will leave downtown Lanesboro on Saturday, October 10th at 10am under police escort, heading south and then east as they follow the creek climbing Grosbeak and Gentle then eventually descending on Easy Street. They will then climb the infamous Dew Drop and turn south towards “The Big Woods” and Amish country. These riders will want to consider their options when they reach Grub Hill and keep their wits about them when they hit the Amish maintained MMR just west of Henrytown. After making their way down Grit Road, crossing our finish line in downtown Lanesboro is gonna feel good. This route will feature several minimum maintenance roads, 3200+ feet of climbing, and perhaps a surprise or two along the way. It ain’t easy, but nothing worth doing ever is.
