Distance + Style
Race distance varies week to week. Usually 4k to 6k distance. Race technique will vary between Classic and Skate from week to week, depending on snow conditions and weather.
This year, DXC will again offer two classes at each race: Recreational and Competitive. The Recreational class will generally be a bit shorter (usually 3 to 4 kilometers instead of 4 to 6 kilometers), but will otherwise be the same format. Racers may switch between categories throughout the season, and may earn points in either or both.
When
Wednesday 6:30PM
Racing will begin as soon as we have snow, and will continue each Wednesday until February 21, 2024, dependent on snow conditions. Later Wednesdays in March may be used as “make-up” days for races canceled due to snow conditions, cold weather, etc.
Where
Race venues will rotate each week, with Spirit Mountain Nordic Center, Lester Park and Snowflake being the primary locations. Will will update this list as the schedule grows!

Friday, February 20, 2026 - KORTE BUS DETAILS
- We have chartered a 29-passenger coach to depart from the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) at roughly 6:30 AM (arriving at the start at OO at roughly 8:00 AM) and return to the DECC around 6:00 PM in the afternoon (leaving Hayward at roughly 4:30 PM).
- NOTE: the departure time in Hayward is somewhat flexible – if you have concerns or would like to see that time shifted, please let us know and we may be able to adjust things.
- The Korte bus has permission to park very close to the start, so skiers can wait on the bus, if they want to, until their designated wave time. After the race, the bus will pick skiers up near where the other buses shuttle people to the parking lots.
Saturday, February 21, 2026 - BIRKIE BUS DETAILS
- We have chartered TWO 55-passenger buses to depart from the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC).

-
The Birkie Bus has permission to park in a lot that's located 400m (according to the Birkie folks!) from the start, so skiers may wait on board the nice warm bus until their designated wave start time. There's a bathroom on board the bus (PRICELESS BIFFY LINE ALTERNATIVE). After the race, the bus will pick skiers up in Hayward near where the other buses shuttle people to the parking lots.
Pick up/ Drop-off

Folks who are not yet DXC members can register for the bus for $70, OR you can just get your DXC membership first (You control the membership level/cost), and then complete your Bus to the Birkie registration. Your choice! The discount code at checkout is DXCMEMBER26 for DXC Members.
-
Both skiers and those cheering are welcome to register – we just want to fill the buses. First come, first served!
Additional Info
-
If you make arrangements to take someone else’s place on the bus who won’t be using it, no problem – just let us know so we can update our list to reflect who will be riding with us. If you don’t think you will finish the race in time to catch the bus home, you are free to register and take advantage of the bus ride to the start, but will need to make other arrangements for your trip home. Again, please keep us posted if this is your plan.
-
Money will be returned if the race or bus must be cancelled due to weather. Otherwise, we are unable to offer refunds if you choose not to ride.

The Duluth Women’s 10 Mile is an awe-inspiring event that brings women together to run 10 incredible miles together. This run was created to empower women, and to cheer them on in a race where they are celebrated.
The sunrise start high on Hawk Ridge provides expansive Lake Superior views with breathtaking colors and energy. The course will take you from the skyline to the shoreline as it traverses the hillside before descending Seven Bridges Road where you'll "Bridge the Gap" on a beautiful forest road that winds across the bridges before arriving at the shore of Lake Superior. The second half of the course winds along the Lake on the Lakewalk to the finish at Duluth Running Co. near downtown Duluth.
“Bridging the Gap" is a metaphor for the gap women face. It’s a pay gap. It’s an accessibility gap. It’s many other gaps, and these gaps have consequences. Together with the Entrepreneur Fund (501c3) we’ve created an opportunity to Bridge the Gap. All donations and funds raised from this event support women entrepreneurs with resources to build and grow sustainable businesses.
