    Please join us for the FIFTH ANNUAL running event and our 3rd "Melting Michigan Mini-Marathon" in support of Young Life in Greater Ann Arbor. You read that right, the race is a 2.62 mile run / walk at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, MI. All proceeds from the race will be used to support high school and college students, as well as students with cognitive impairments in the Greater Ann Arbor area to experience the adventure of a Young Life camp trip.     This registration is for the 5K Run portion only of the DefiPlate™ Hybrid Strength & Speed Competition.

    If you wish to compete in the full hybrid event (Deficit Deadlift + 5K Run), please register separately on Iron Podium:

    The 5K is a USATF-measured course that runs through the scenic Hudson Mills Metropark loop.

    All runners will receive official chip timing, individual results, and event placement recognition.

    ⚙️ Hybrid Competition Overview (for reference)

    The full hybrid event challenges athletes to perform two scored disciplines:

    Deficit Deadlift (using DefiPlate™ and a stiff bar)

    5K Run

    Competitors’ rankings are based on a combined 50/50 scoring system, rewarding both strength and endurance.

    (Example: a strong deadlifter can still win if they post a solid run time — balance is key.)

    📏 5K Course Details

    Distance: USATF-certified 5,000 meters (Hudson Mills loop)

    Start: Mass start with chip timing

    Course Surface: Paved park path, scenic and flat

    Rules:

    No pacers, bikes, or outside assistance allowed (disability exception)

    All participants must finish under their own power

    Water stations provided

    All finishers receive race results and recognition. Division winners will be acknowledged on the event leaderboard.

    Announcing the inaugural Stomping out Elder Abuse One Step At A Time 5k run/walk. The race will take place on Sunday, June 14th at 8:30 am at Manly Bennet Park in Hamburg. A 5K dedicated to dignity, safety, and respect, organized by Livingston County Catholic Charities.

    Pricing: Early Registration $30 until May 31, $35 from June 1st to June 13th. $40 on Race day.

    Race Swag: Participants will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal. Shirts are guaranteed with registration thru May 31st, and available as supplies last after that date.

    Packet pickup will take place race day morning starting at 7:00 am

    Proceeds and donations from the event will support Elder Abuse Prevention programs thru Livingston County Catholic Charities.

    The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation.

    We are back for an exciting 2026 Red, White and Blue COLOR Blast 5K run/walk and 10K run! This will be an in-person event with the start and finish at the Whitmore Lake Elementary School - 1077 Barker Rd. We are back with a color blast run where at the start of the 5k, finish for all runners and in the color zone along the 5k route runners/walkers will be blasted with red and blue color powder. If color powder isn't your thing, no worries. Just tell the volunteers along the route, and they will not blast you. We encourage all racers to show their spirit by wearing red, white and blue! This is a family-friendly race. Strollers are allowed.

    WHERE: Due to Constuction on Main Street we have moved the start and finish for the 2026 run. Start and Finish at Whitmore Lake Elementary School

    • Trophies to the top overall male and overall female finishers in each race

    SHIRTS:

    • To be guaranteed a shirt, registration must be made before June 6, 2026 (11:59 pm). Shirts will be given on a "First Come First Serve" basis during packet pickup if registered after June 6th.

    BENEFITING:

    • Whitmore Lake Kiwanis which funds scholarships for deserving graduates of Whitmore Lake High School and Whitmore Lake Community Recreation

    TIMING AND SCORING:

    • Timing and scoring will be done by A2 Race Management.

    Refunds – we will not be issuing any refunds for this event. This event is a fundraiser to support community scholarships for WLHS graduating seniors. This race will be run in rain or shine. In case of severe inclement weather, there could be a delay in the start of the event or cancellation. Cancellations due to severe inclement weather would be determined by race management, police, fire & rescue.

    Come celebrate the 1st Annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k on Saturday, October 3rd in celebration Ostomy Awareness Day!

    This family friendly event will include lots of fun and laughter, local vendors, food, music and celebration so be sure to bring your entire family!     Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
