Want to Sign Up Your Entire Class?

Here are two options for signing up your class:

Option 1: Have students sign up individually here on RunSignUp. It will cost them each $15.71 as long as they are 18 or younger and they sign up by February 16th before the price increase. T-shirts and medals will be sent to the address students list while registering.

Option 2: Email us a spreadsheet (like this one) with your school address and student information to [email protected]. Then, make a donation here equal to $14 per student and $28 per adult (discounted because shipping in bulk saves us some money). For more than 40 years, the Irish Jig has marked the start of Michigan’s racing season. But 2026 isn’t just another starting line. It’s a turning point. On March 14, we’re not running for tradition. We’re running against a brutal truth: 1 in 2 people will face cancer in their lifetime. That’s not a statistic we’re willing to accept. This year, the Irish Jig becomes more than a race. It’s a stand. A statement. A surge of runners moving as one. Every stride fuels cancer research and care through Corewell Health and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Every step brings hope closer to home. This is not just a 5K. This is a rally for fighters, a reckoning with cancer, a reason to believe in something bigger. Join us. Bring your people. Fill the streets. Run. Walk. Cheer. Because we're taking the Jig WellBeyond anything it's been before.

New for 2026 is the Kids Gold Ribbon Run and Jig Virtual participation option. The Kids Gold Ribbon Run will take place at 9:30a on the East Grand Rapids Track, allowing kids to use their feet to raise support for pediatric cancer programs. The Kids Gold Ribbon Run is free to register, with an optional $25 commemorative shirt available. The kids will be broken into age groups and complete one lap on the track.

The Jig Virtual is an opportunity to participate in the movement from anywhere that works for you the week of March 9. Your shirt will be mailed out to you on race weekend. Registration for the Jig Virtual closes on March 7th.

Apply to be an Irish Jig Ambassador!

Meals on Wheels Western Michigan's 5th Annual March for Meals Community Walk & 5k is a family-friendly event for people of all ages and abilities to come together and support the health and independence of older adults in Western Michigan. The walk is a 2-mile loop and the 5K run is on that same loop, just extending a bit farther into the park.

New this year: the price of the walk is the same as the run, and includes a shirt and race medal. You may opt out of a race shirt for a $10 discount.

Click here for a map of the walk route, and click here for a map of the 5k route.

Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry friends! You can even add on a medal for your dog upon registration.

Packet pickup and festivities will begin at 9:00 am at Grant Pavilion, with a brief welcome at 10:00 am, and the walk and race taking off at 10:15 am. An awards ceremony will be held immediately after the race. An alternative packet pickup is also available on the Friday before the race at Meals on Wheels Western Michigan in Grandville from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

The price of the 2-mile walk is the same as the 5K run this year, and both include a race medal and shirt. The early bird price starts at $35 and will increase to $40 on February 14th and $45 on race day. Kids ages 0-7 are free (no need to register them). You may opt out of a race shirt for $10 off, just select the no shirt option when registering.

For those of you who love competition, we've got some great prizes in store for our 5K overall and age-group winners. We are also challenging you to come dressed as a food item and will be awarding prizes to the best-dressed adult, kiddo, and doggo participants. We will also have prizes for the youngest and oldest runners!

This event is rain, snow, or shine! So be sure to dress for the weather.

Can't make it in person? Join us from afar, wherever you are, with the virtual race option! For $35, we will send you a race packet including a t-shirt. Map out your own 2-mile walk or 5k run and join in the fun by submitting photos and tagging us on social.

We hope you also join us in donating or fundraising for Meals on Wheels Western Michigan. Every $5 can provide a tasty meal and friendly check-in for a homebound senior in West Michigan. Share your story of why you run, or who you run for, and help us reach our vision of a community where no senior is hungry or forgotten.

The Amway River Bank Run, presented by Fifth Third Bank with Corewell Health as the Official Health Partner, is held every year in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan on the second Saturday of May.

This year, on May 9, 2026, we will be celebrating 49 years and are looking forward to filling the streets of Grand Rapids with the largest 25K road race in the country, which includes the USA 25 km Open Championships, 25K Handcycle, 25K Wheelchair, 10K Run, 5K Run and 5K Community Walk.

In addition to our in-person events, we offer virtual events that give individuals an opportunity to participate by completing the distance of their choice (25K, 10K, 5K, or 5K walk) on the course of their choice and any day that works between May 1 and May 31. Each virtual event offers extended finishing times (unlike the in-person course cutoffs) and having this flexibility makes the Virtual Race a great option for many runners and walkers. Plus, you still receive all the commemorative Amway River Bank Run Race Swag, which includes high-quality race shirts, premium medals and a virtual race bib.

In 1978, just over 1,000 runners took to the streets on the second Saturday of May for the first annual Old Kent River Bank Run. In 2001, Old Kent Bank merged with Fifth Third Bank, and the event was renamed to showcase its new owner. With the transition of race ownership in 2018 to Riverbank Events and Media , a group of leading community partners came together, including Amway, Fifth Third Bank and Corewell Health, to ensure the race would continue its longstanding tradition of filling the streets of Grand Rapids with runners and walkers, on the second Saturday of May, for years to come. In 2019, with Amway as the title sponsor, the race became known as the Amway River Bank Run, presented by Fifth Third Bank and Corewell Health as the Official Health Partner.

The Amway River Bank Run is proud to be celebrating 49 years in 2026 and we hope to see you at the Start Line!
