In preparation for the RRCA Club Challenge on February 22, 2026, Coaches Dave Roeder and Ndegwa Kamau will lead an informal 10 mile training program starting. The training schedule calls for 4 days per week to allows us to train for the longer distances on a flat course and then focus on the hills in Greenbelt Park with a shorter course. If you can't make it to all of the training runs there are ways to modify it to fit your needs. We'd be happy to work with you on that.
Our first run will be On Saturday, Jan 3 at 8:00 am at Greenbelt Park.

Description
The Spring 10k Training Program runs from February 14th through April 18th. Your coach will train you to run 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) by building your endurance with a combination of walking and running, plus speed and hill workouts. This training program will offer participants the benefits of improved cardiovascular fitness, safe training techniques, injury prevention, nutrition tips, and most of all - fun!
The target graduation race is the Springburst 10K in Glendale, MD, along the WB&A Trail, on April 18, 2026.
The program consists of four formal workouts per week during which all participants will train as a group with the coach. Training sessions will be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. This year, we'll be offering morning and evening run options for the weekday runs! Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all four days each week for maximum program benefits; however training plans will be shared each week so those that cannot make a session can complete the training workout on their own.
The cost of the 10k training program is $40. This fee covers the cost of group activities. The program is intended for adults of all ages and abilities (Beginner-Intermediate.) While the program is intended for all abilities, participants are encouraged to be able to run or walk/run 3 miles prior to the start of the program.
Participants are required to join the Prince George’s Running Club if not already a member of the club. Click the following link to join or renew your club membership. https://runsignup.com/Club/Join/71
