Want to help raise funds and awareness for the Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA)? If you are thinking of asking for charitable donations instead of birthday gifts, or planning to host a bake sale or community event - here is where to get started!

Fundraisers are an important vehicle in advancing SFA's mission. We are honored to be contacted by so many passionate members of the community wanting to organize an event to increase sarcoma awareness and funding for research.

Just follow these three simple steps:

1. Develop an idea for an event (bowl-a-thon, golf tournament, etc.)

2. Create your event page

3. Share your event page link with friends and family through social media

We challenge you to get involved! Your efforts, both large and small, will assist SFA with funding important research to help find a cure in our time.

Whitman Icebreaker 5K is an annual fun run that raises money for a local charity and brings the community closer together. This year we are raising money for Nourishing Bethesda, an organization that offers wraparound services to address food insecurity in the Bethesda area.

Walt Whitman High School Front Entrance

7100 Whittier Blvd. Bethesda

T-Shirt and Bib pickup starts at 8 am day of race

We hope you can join us for the Cavalier 5K & 1K! The races will be held at The Heights with the 5K start and the finish on campus. The 1K is entirely on campus.

These races are open to all Heights alumni, parents, and students as well as their family and friends. Please register in advance. Registration includes participation in the timed race, an official shirt, and the cookout afterwards.

Want to bring the whole family? Multi-person pricing is available- $65 for 3+ registrants. Scroll the bottom of the sign-up form to select multi-person and register additional runners. All runners must be registered. When register multiple runners it will give you the option to choose the 5K or the 1K for each.

Non-runners are welcome to come cheer and join in the cookout. Volunteer opportunities are available as well! Email Andrew Rowedder '09 to learn more.
