The Tradition Continues: The Fred Warren 5K

A Holden Staple for 60 Years: Established by Fred Warren—former Wachusett Regional High School coach and founder of the Central Mass Striders—this race began as a premier training opportunity for his athletes. Today the Central Mass Striders are proud to carry the torch, celebrating 60 years of community, grit, and local spirit.

• Location: Seven Saws Brewing Co., Holden, MA

• The 5K: A classic course for all abilities.

• Kids Fun Run: A free event for the younger runners that will stay in the industrial park.

We’re spicing things up—registration is better with friends. Form a team with your family, coworkers, or run club. The team with the most members wins the ultimate prize: community bragging rights and team pride!

11th Annual Davis Hill Dragon Dash

We cordially invite you to participate in the 2025 Dragon Dash 5k Road Race. This event will raise money to benefit the Davis Hill School PTA which supports incredible programming for the students, including science enrichment, classroom equipment, and much more! The event will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Davis Hill Elementary School in Holden.

This is a true family friendly 5k with something for everyone.

Davis Hill Dragon Dash 5k is great for runners, walkers, strollers, leashed dogs.

Arrival and Parking

Davis Hill Elementary is located at 80 Jamieson Road, Holden Ma. We ask that people use the Highland street entrance and parking lot located at 175 Highland Street, Holden Ma. This will keep the front of the school open.

Start time is 8am Sharp

Please arrive early! We can not express this enough!

As of right now, we have OVER 1,300 participants and anticipate

even more will be joining us. With that being said, please allow extra time for parking, check-in

and please be patient.

Parking Instructions:

Parking is available at Woodmeister and Innertite on Industrial Drive, who have generously allowed participants to use their lots. There is also a limited amount of parking at the Stephen Nowak Memorial Field.

Important:

No parking is permitted at any other businesses on Industrial Drive.

No parking is allowed on either side of Industrial Drive.

Please respect these guidelines to ensure safety and cooperation with local businesses. We will have volunteers to help with parking.

Drop-Off Instructions: Highly recommended if possible

If you are being dropped off, please get dropped off at the beginning of Industrial Drive. There is NO turnaround if you go further than Avient. After being dropped off, please walk to the Start Line.

The race course is as follows:

Left onto Main Street (122A North)

***RIGHT onto Boyden Rd, (at Pholicious Restaurant), which turns into Phillips Rd

***LEFT onto Phillips Rd (the 2nd left on Boyden Rd)

***LEFT onto Highland Street (Route 31)

***Left onto Main Street (122A South)

*** Cross over at the intersection of Main & Route 31 (Police will be there)

Right onto Industrial Dr. back to Seven Saws Brewery

Important Safety Reminders

Please stay on the right-hand side of the road. You must use the breakdown lane, bike lane, or walkway. The roads will NOT be closed to traffic, but police will be present to ensure everyone's safety.

Water:

We will have a very limited amount of water, so please bring your own water bottle to ensure you stay hydrated.

If you were unable to pick up your bib, you can do so in the morning. We will be ready for 7:15am
