Together, we can Tackle The Stigma. ๐
The Shepherd Hill Cheerleading program and the DCRSD community invite you to join us for Tackle The Stigma, a community Run/Walk dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and supporting vital mental health initiatives. This impactful event will take place on Sunday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Shepherd Hill Regional High School.
Why We Run/Walk
Tackle The Stigma was created to raise both funds and awareness for mental health support services. Every step taken helps break down barriers, encourage open conversations, and ensure individuals struggling with mental health challenges can access the support they need without fear or stigma.
Whether you choose to walk, run, or simply cheer from the sidelines, your presence makes a difference. Together, we can show our community that mental health matters and that no one has to face their struggles alone.
All proceeds from the Run/Walk will be donated to JAK-L and Brake the Silence, two local organizations that share our mission of supporting mental health awareness and services.
Spread the Word
We welcome participants of all ages and backgrounds to take part in this community event. Attendees can also enjoy local vendors, food trucks, raffles, and more throughout the day.
Help us make Tackle The Stigma a success by sharing this event with your friends, family, and community. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

The FlexRelay Format
At IronHike we use a FlexRelay format for each of our Events. We call them FlexRelays because they are flexible. Each team member, whether in the Trail Buddy or Trail Family event, has no minimum or maximum laps, mileage, elevation, or time on the course. Teams manage who is on the mountain for how long and when, according to conditions, fitness levels, and the needs of the team.
Common Questions
Do I need to be a runner? No. IronHike is a hiking Event. If you can walk up a mountain repeatedly and keep moving, you can do this. Running is never required.
What if I can't finish? Every lap is earned. There is no shame in stopping. Every Mountain Athlete sets their own ceiling โ the Event ends when you decide it ends, or when the Final Bell rings.

The remaining 20% acts as a change fee to help cover overhead and processing fees. Transfers within the same series are allowed on a case-by-case basis.
