The Cambridge–Watertown Community 5K is a free local run and walk event designed to bring neighbors together and encourage healthy movement across our communities.
Participants are welcome to complete their 5K anytime during the event window and submit their time online.
A suggested starting point is near Watertown Square, with a scenic route following the Charles River path toward Cambridge. From there, runners can loop near Fresh Pond Reservation before returning toward Watertown.
This suggested route highlights the natural connection between Cambridge and Watertown, but participants are free to complete their 5K in any safe location that works best for them.

Near Fresh Pond in Cambridge
Around Arsenal Yards
Through East Watertown neighborhoods
Along Mount Auburn Street connecting both towns
All fitness levels are welcome.
Run it competitively. Walk it with family. Invite a friend from a neighboring town.
The goal is simple:
Encourage healthy habits
Connect local communities
Highlight the strength of Cambridge and Watertown
Whether you live in Cambridge, Watertown, Belmont, or nearby Middlesex County towns, this event is open to you.
