  EWB’s 4th Annual 5K Stride for Sustainability invites community members to run in support of health and environmental awareness while raising funds for impactful projects in Malawi, Rwanda, and Woodford.

  Engineers Without Borders UIUC is a student-led nonprofit that builds a better world by empowering communities to meet their basic human needs while equipping students to solve the world's most pressing challenges. We realize this mission through projects such as bridges, water and wastewater systems, and electrical systems.

  Our chapter is currently working on projects in the United States, Rwanda, and Malawi. We work to ensure that our projects are sustainable in terms of environmental impact and that they are able to serve the needs of their communities for years to come.

  Join us as we run to raise money to build infrastructure for communities around the world!

  The 12th Annual Illini Veterans Memorial 5K Run/Walk is taking place on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. This 5K is the seminal event conducted by the Illini Veterans, that works to both raise funds for the club to support veteran programs and services. This event also brings together our members with our community supporters.

  The 27th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie includes a 10K and 5K run and 5K walk that benefits Grand Prairie Friends, a non-profit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois....

  The 27th annual Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie includes a 10K and 5K run and 5K walk that benefits Grand Prairie Friends, a non-profit land trust and conservation group in central Illinois. This race circles the beautiful 130-acre Meadowbrook Park and prairie in Urbana, Illinois and includes some trail running. It offers a low entry fee, race medals, optional t-shirts, music, and friendly volunteers.

  If you can't attend the race in person, support Grand Prairie Friends and participate in our virtual races. Run the distance you want, where and when you want and report your time by Nov 2 on RunSignUp. Virtual race times will be posted but not considered for medals.

  Come celebrate 27 years of races! Runners of all ages welcome!

  Registration: Starts 8/18/2025

  10K Run:

  • WOMEN: Ages: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  • MEN: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  • NON-BINARY: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  5K Run:

  • WOMEN: Ages: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  • MEN: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  • NON-BINARY: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

  5K Walk:

  • Ages: 0-35, 36-49, 50 and over

  Regulations:

  • No dogs, strollers, or hiking poles

  • No refunds. This is a "RAIN OR SHINE" race.

  • Applicable state and local COVID guidelines will apply

  T-Shirts: Register by midnight, Oct 19. to order a race t-shirt

  Parking: See detailed instructions and map below

  Packet Pickup: Race packets available noon-4pm on Saturday, Nov 1 at Body n' Sole, 1317 Dunlap, Savoy, IL (217-356-8926).

  Packets also available on race day from 8-8:45am at the Garden Pavilion in Meadowbrook Park near the Race Street Parking Lot.

  Race start: 9am. Don't forget the time change!
