Thank you for supporting RAMP, a local non-profit organization that provides services and advocacy that assist individuals with disabilities to live as independently as possible.
RAMP Disability Resources & Services mission is to build an inclusive community that encourages individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential. RAMP takes a creative approach to find resources and opportunities available to team up with individuals with disabilities to access the community where we live, work and play. We have this knowledge because the majority of our staff and board of directors have disabilities. RAMP staff meets individuals with disabilities where they are at and together as a team we take them where they want to go. We advocate for the implementation of current laws, promotion of needed legislation and improvement of existing systems for people with disabilities while working to diminish negative attitudes that threaten to impede equal access. Southern Kettle Welcome.
The hospitality of the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is inviting, consuming and eager to greet you. This is where you’ll start your 136 mile journey headed North. All of the miles you travel on are those of the Ice Age State Trail. From gentle wide groomed trails, single tracks that you could traverse for days, bike paths and road connectors this course has it all. Over the 55 hours given you’ll connect sections to aid stations, dots to dots and yourself deeper with purpose. Nature has a way of doing just that and we are thrilled to create a space of growth for you both.
What’s in a name?
All of our events are named something with great meaning. “Echo”, to call out and sound returns, only here it’s of our 2025 event “Fallinline” just now headed in the other direction. Where lessons bounce off the rocks, roots and trees to come back to you as a response to relentlessly persist forward. We promise you will be challenged, it will almost always get worse, but you will come out of the valley to a peak again. These are metaphorical sentences of course, but your desire to complete the course shall be a statement you make all on your own. We’ll be there every moment with you.
Great Expectations.
Our number one goal is to have all of the tools for you to succeed. Aid stations provided along the way with all have full coverage sides and canopy top with chairs and cots available to rest as needed. They will be stocked with water, soda, ice and an electrolyte drink. The foods one will expect will all be there as well; candies, crunchies, salty things, warm hearty, and cold grabs all depending on the times the stations are open. A menu will go out on what the main entree will be.We will be cognizant of dietary preferences of vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, gluten free to free range “I’ll eat whatever’. If you are truly CELIAC, please let me know and I’ll be happy to store your food at the aid stations you choose. I cannot or won’t guarantee gluten cross contaminations.
Support.
There will be 9 fully stocked (covered tents, chairs, cots, meal options, all the snacks, water, soda and an electrolyte drink) aid stations on the course. Mile markers attached to the locations are those from the FarOut app of the Ice Age trail map. The next set of numbers are the miles between stations. The placement may change due to the trail management and number of entrants, but we will update any changes as they come up.A more though description will be in the “Runners Manual” when posted on our website @Tydish.org.*Start line-Rice Lake boat launch (868.7).AS 1 Young Road trail intersection (879.7) 10.9 miles.AS 2-Scuppernong trailhead (897.9) 17.75 miles.AS 3-Deeds place (912.8) 14.4 miles.AS 4-Centennial park (924.4) 11.65 miles.AS 5-Emerald Dr. trailhead (936.6) 12.2 miles.AS 6-Pike Lake nature trail lot (947.9) 11.2 milesAS 7-Paradise Dr. trailhead (959.0) 10.8 miles.AS 8-Sunburst ski hill lot/Ice Age trailhead (967.0) 11 miles.AS 9-Butler Lake “stairs to nowhere” trailhead (986.2) 19.2 miles.Finish line-CTH P. Family Health Partnership Clinic is proud to present the 26th Annual Care4 Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 18th at Woodstock North High School!
The Care4 Breast Cancer 5K celebrates survivors, supports our breast cancer warriors and honors the loved ones we have lost too soon. It is an inspiring and moving event that makes a huge impact in our community. The Care4 5K raises critical funds to support Family Health Partnership Clinic in it's mission to provide health care services to the uninsured adults of McHenry County. Specifically, the funds raised are pledged to breast cancer education, early diagnosis & detection, annual screenings and other women's health programs. We know that early detection is key to survival and, with your help, we can give everyone the hope and support they need.
The Care4 will again have a VIRTUAL option! Our Care4 Family extends to all four corners of the country and we want to ensure that everyone is included so we are thrilled to be able to offer a VIRTUAL CARE4 Experience. As a VIRTUAL participant, you can choose the time and place to walk, run or be active from October 11th thru October 18th. Upload your results along with pictures of you and your Care4 Crew wearing your swag. Those signed up for the Virtual Care4 can opt in for shipping and your shirt and bib will be shipped by October 9th.
So together, let’s spread the Care4 message far and wide- making sure that EVERYONE has access to breast cancer screenings and early detection, preventative care and education! Early diagnosis is key to survival and without health insurance, early detection may not happen. Uninsured women were nearly 2.6 times more likely to be diagnosed with a later stage of the disease. With your support, FHPC can change that because, we believe, everyone deserves healthcare!
The Clinic has been providing quality health care to the uninsured men and women of McHenry County since 1996! For more info about FHPC, visit hpclinic.org.
Registration includes Care4 T-shirt (guaranteed size if registered by 10/10, so don't miss out- register today!)
