Join us for a 5k Fun Run/Walk that shows off the Recreation trail in and around George, IA. The start and finish are located in beautiful Locker Park. Proceeds go to the improvement and maintenance
of the trail system. Majority of route is on the city trail with only the first half mile on city streets. The run is on a mostly flat course with a few minor hills. Enjoy the scenery as you run on the trail through residential housing, campground, wooded area, and fields.
For those that do not want to run, we do offer a 1.25 mile (Approximate length) untimed leisurely walk. This event will start with those participating in the 5K, but will veer off and participants will then walk the north portion of the George Recreational Trail and finish at the 5k finish line. This event is for those who don't want to run/walk the entire 5K but still want to enjoy the Freedom Day Fun Run/Walk. The walk will NOT be timed but finishers will still receive a t-shirt and refreshments.

Davis Lake Triathlon will be held on the 4th of July. This triathlon is Kayak, Bike, Run. There are two race categories.
The Minnow Race=Kayak 1/4 mile, Bike 2 miles, and Run 1 Mile
The Shark
Race=Kayak 1/2 mile, Bike 8 miles, and Run 2.5 Miles
Both events can be completed by either a single individual or a 2-3 person team. When registering as a team, only one member is required to pay the registration. I will contact that person to get information about his/her teammates
Kayaks and Life Vests will be provided.
ALL BIKERS MUST WEAR A HELMET!!

Every half mile learn facts about colorectal cancer and finish the race by running
through a large, inflatable colon!
All proceeds help fund colonoscopies for the underserved patients of Falls Community Health in Sioux Falls, SD.

Race is located downtown Sioux Falls at Fawick Park.
Run out and back on a designated paved trail which follows the Big Sioux River!

The Sioux Falls Marathon, powered by Sanford Health and the Sioux Falls Sports Authority, features races for all levels of runners. Distances include the full marathon, half marathon, & 5K.
The full
& half races feature downtown Sioux Falls, iconic Falls Park (for full and half) and many of the city's finest parks as well as the bike trail system.
A portion of the net proceeds from the Sioux Falls Marathon is donated to the Sanford Children's Miracle Network. The 2024 races raised more than $20,000 for children in our community.

The race is exactly what it says a DASH!
We will be running on the bike trail which is a short warm up walk to the bike trail from Cherapa Place with our headquarters being at Queen City Bakery.
Come dressed for fun! A sweet prize goes to the winner of the best costume! There will be penguins or flags along the course for markings and there will be signs at the turn around for each distance.
