    The Savannah Camellia Festival & Community Run invites runners, walkers, families, and neighbors to enjoy thousands of youth-planted camellias along the Truman Linear Trail, followed by a free, open-door festival at Cohen’s Retreat with food, art, kids activities, and short demonstrations.     This race is a 5K/10K run/walk hosted by students of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Georgia Southern University (Armstrong Campus). The race route spans the Armstrong Campus and will be lined with volunteers to cheer you on. The theme for 2025 is a Beach Bum Run, and participants are encouraged to wear their Hawaiian shirts/board shorts/floaties/floppy hats attire. Participants will receive a race t-shirt and swag bag at on-site packet pickup. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each category. Proceeds will benefit the Georgia Southern Physical Therapy Club and enable our students with opportunities to engage with and serve Savannah and the surrounding area.

    The race is family and dog friendly; feel free to bring along strollers and/or leashed dogs.

    Professional race timing provided by Endurance Race Services with online results posted at www.savannahraces.com.

    Packet Pickup Information:

    • Day-before pickup: Friday, April 24th at Armstrong Campus Student Union (Starbucks) from 12:30-5 PM.

    • Day-of pickup: Saturday, April 25th at Armstrong Campus Student Union from 7:45-8:30 AM.

    Race starts promptly at 9:00 AM, so please arrive on time!

    Those who sign up after April 4th will not be guaranteed a T-shirt for the race, however the price will remain the same.

    The Savannah Mile returns for 2026! This highly anticipated race is scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16, as part of National Law Enforcement Week. For over 15 years, this event has served such an important role in fulfilling the organization's mission – to raise vital funds for the families of fallen heroes in our community. The course, beginning at the south end of Forsyth Park, will take participants down Drayton Street and finish up on Broughton Street.

    Runners and walkers of all fitness levels are invited to participate in this unique event, which will feature six heats for all ages and abilities, including a “Memory Walk” for the families and friends of fallen heroes to walk the mile in memory of and to honor their loved ones. The last run of the morning will be the “Heroes Heat,” which is open to all first responders and military in full gear or not. However, full 30-pound or over gear is required to compete for the “Full Gear All Out Flag!”

    The races will conclude with an awards celebration in Johnson Square, where attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverages while race times are announced. There will be an opportunity to join the 200 Club and learn more about our mission of helping the families of those who care for us by putting their lives and safety on the line every day.

    The Savannah Mile is the perfect way to directly support the families of those who risk it all, while enjoying time with friends and family in the unique Savanah environment. 100% of proceeds from the race will go to assist the 200 Club in fulfilling its mission to assist families of first responders who die or suffer critical injuries in the line of duty.

    All heats are timed, with the exception of the Memory Walk for the families of fallen first responders.

    Sign up by April 30 to register for only $30! Pricing will increase to $35 on May 1st before registration closes on May 15th.

    ONLY PARTICIPANTS COMPETING FOR TIME WILL RECEIVE A BIB. No substituting T-shirt size. T-shirts not guaranteed with late registration.

    Heat Race Times

    • Heat A: 8 a.m. Run Fast - High intensity! This heat is for runners who plan to crush the mile in under 8 minutes. High energy, fast pace — perfect for competitors, athletes, and anyone looking to push themselves while honoring a powerful cause.

    • Heat B: 8:20 a.m. Run for Fun - The crowd favorite! Join this heat if you’re planning to run or jog an 8–12 minutes mile. It’s friendly, energetic, and perfect for runners who want a fun pace with hype energy and good people all around supporting our first responders.

    • Heat C: 8:40 a.m. Run & Walk - Good vibes, great company! This heat is for anyone mixing in run/walk intervals at a relaxed pace -

    12+ minutes mile. Come run, walk, and enjoy the mile as you show up for our heroes.

    • Heat D: 9:00 a.m. Family Fun Run: Families, strollers, and pets - Fun for all! Enjoy a great event with your family and furry friends as you support our local heroes.

    • Memory Walk: 9:05 a.m. Walk in memory of our fallen heroes. Open to all with paid registration. Complimentary entry for the families of fallen first responders. Untimed: No bib will be assigned.

    • Heroes Heat: 9:30 a.m. All first responders and military - Full Gear or Not. Full gear required to compete for the Full Gear*All Out Flag (30 pound minimum gear required)
