Brief Description
Come join us for a 5K run during the Dog Days of Summer. On Race Day, 7:00 to 7:45am will be late registration and packet pickup. The Race will begin promptly at 8:00am. We will then have awards after the race on the track.
The Course
This USATF certified 5K begins on the track at The Citadel, where participants will run a lap around campus, go through Summerall gate of The Citadel, run 1 lap around Hampton Park, come back through Summerall gate of The Citadel and then run another lap on campus, finishing on the track.
Parking
Parking will be available near the track on The Citadel's campus.
Day of Race Registration
Registration the day of the race will be available from 7:00-7:45am on the track at The Citadel. The fee will be $35.
Packet Pick-up
Race numbers and packets can be picked up from 7:00-7:45am on the day of the race on the track at The Citadel.
Water and Restrooms
Water stops will be available throughout the course and near the finish. Restrooms will be available near the track.
Results
Results will be posted on http://sites.google.com/site/breakawayracing/ as soon as computations are complete.
Additional Information
Entry fee with t-shirt will be $35 before July7 and $40 after July 8.

US Road Running
The Wednesday Wannamaker Worlds will take place every Wednesday evening on July 22, 29, August 5 & 12, bringing mountain biking enthusiasts together for a high-energy short track race series. Riders will have the opportunity to test their skills, refine their techniques, and enjoy a competitive yet welcoming environment each week.
This recurring event will foster a strong cycling community, encourage skill development, and provide an exciting mid-week challenge for racers of all levels.
Registration/Check-in and Start/Finish will be at the old trailhead Down the Yellow Trail
Parking will be at the regular Wannamaker North Trailhead
All spectators will be asked to pay the trail usage fee of $1; trail usage fee is included in the entry fee for racers.
Day of registration will be available at the venue
Race Format & Categories
Category A (Advanced)– Experienced racers and e-bikes (Class I)
Category B (Beginner) – Riders looking for a competitive race experience.
Kids- Children under 13, race would be on a shorter course (bikes must be a 24" wheel or smaller)
Each racer Will get a number at registration; this number will be reused throughout the series.
Series Point Schedule:
1st- 10 points
2nd- 9 points
3rd- 8 points
4th- 7 points
5th- 6 points
6th- 5 points
7th- 4 points
8th- 3 points
9th- 2 points
10th and greater- 1 point
Overall leader awards will be presented in each category based on points. Greatest number of points will be awarded first place; second highest score will be second and third highest will be third.
USA Cycling license is not required and that these training races are not eligible for upgrade or ranking points
Course Overview
A compact, spectator-friendly short track loop that is about 1.2mi featuring single track trail and service roads.
Each race will be a timed event, with lap counts varying by category, based on the speed of their laps.
Well-marked trails with safety marshals stationed along key sections.
