Join us on Thanksgiving Day. Come out and burn some pre-turkey calories while working up an appetite for your Thanksgiving Day feast by running or walking the 16th annual Tryptophan Half Marathon,
10K, or 5K.
WOW, 16 years is an amazing tradition! We are THANKFUL to all of YOU for coming out year after year. It is great to see family and friends come together from all over to create special memories on race day! So be THAT FAMILY on turkey day and run a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon run/walk.

COURSE:
5K Course: Starts and finishes in front of Rosati's Pizza and Sports Pub, 415 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, Ga. Mostly flat course with lots of room to run.
10K Course: Continues from the 5K going south on Peachtree Parkway and U-Turning before Sharon Rd. returning back to the finish.
Half: Continues from the 10K U-Turn down past the Brookwood Target and returning to the finish line.

PARKING:
The Tryptophan 2026 race course utilizes a portion of the Brannon Crossing parking lot. For runner safety we ask that you park across the street at The Collection of Forsyth. If you park in Brannon Crossing you may get stuck until the race is over. Races start on time so be sure to allow plenty of time to park, pick up your packets, and get to the start!!

Royston, GA 2nd annual 5K Turkey Trot and 1 mile fun run. Be a part of this Thanksgiving tradition for you, your family, and your community. Participants who register by Nov 11, 2026 will be
guaranteed a t-shirt and finishers medal. The fun run is a 1 mile course throughout the wellness park. The 5K is a 3.1mile course that you can walk or run through the streets of downtown Royston, GA. The Food Bank serves hundreds of Jackson County families in need every year.

Time:
Race starts at 8:00AM. Packet pickup starts at 7:00AM in the Education Building. NO RUNNER REGISTRATION ON RACE DAY. 1500 RUNNER LIMIT.
Entry Fee:
$15.00 plus 15 canned good items! All proceeds go directly to benefit the Food Bank.
Your paid entry by November 20 guarantees a long sleeve T-shirt. There will be receptacles at the high school parking lot for the canned food donations brought by runners the day of the race.
Suggested canned items: canned tuna, canned chicken, green beans, corn, peas, jelly, peanut butter, and any non-perishable food items!

support Friends Of Roswell Police . The Friends of Roswell Police raises money to support local families and seniors in need for the holidays and throughout the year

Race Day Packet Pickup
Due to the size of the race we are requesting runners to pick up packets ( race number - shirt - giveaway ) at one of our 3 convenient locations on the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Runners can pick up multiple packets for friends and family. The size of the race of 4000+ runners and items to be given will make a race day packet pick up impossible for our volunteers and runners so we are making a mandatory early pick up so that race day will go smoothly for all. We do have 2 options for those that can not make that happen - 1) You can have your race number mailed to you 2 weeks before the race ($10) your bib will be mailed to your house and you will pick up your shirt and gift on race day 2) Race day pick up charge ($10) This can be added during sign up
WHAT YOU NEED TO PICK UP YOUR BIB
Please print and bring your registration confirmation to packet pick up. You can also have this on your phone and even in your apple wallet which will make it eary to find at check in !! At the top of your registration email there is a icon " ADD TO APPLE WALLET" BUT if you are picking up for multiple people it will be easier to have printed registrations for each person or have all in your Apple Wallet. It is important to have the barcode visible that is on your registration as this is how we will check you in. Your registration confirmation was emailed to you after you signed up with the title of the email "Running of the Turkeys 5k Registration Confirmation" that was sent to you by RUNSIGNUP ..if you can not locate this you can have it resent to you simply by logging into WWW.RUNSIGNUP.COM and choosing my profile where you will see your current races. 5K is an AJC Peachtree Road Race
Qualifier and USATF Certified.
This event for the whole family takes place on the Marietta Square where the races will start and finish.
Festive holiday attire is encouraged. Strollers and dogs are allowed.
Proceeds benefit the Cobb County Bar's Children’s Emergency Fund, a 501c3:
The Children’s Emergency Fund, is a 501c3.
The Fund provides emergency grants to Cobb County households facing financial emergencies or crises. The Fund provides
support for Cobb families in need in areas that are often not addressed by traditional charities, assisting with utility bills,
clothing, medicine, housing, to help local families get back on track.

5K race is electronically timed. 5K is USATF Certified and therefore an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier.

Register for a chance to race against the Sleighbells Running Bell in a short sprint.
If the chosen participant races and BEATS the Sleighbells Running Bell, He or She will win $250!
ONLY Sleighbells on the Square Registered Participants can participate.
No fee to register for Beat the Bell. We will draw one name from those who register for Beat the Bell by 11:59 pm on December 8, 2026.
We will email the winner of the drawing by 5:00 pm on December 9, 2026.
The winner of the drawing will race the Sleighbells Running Bell on Saturday, December 12, 2026 between 7:30 -7:45 am at the Sleighbells race location on the Marietta Square.
Enter the Beat the Bell Contest by clicking "Yes" to Beat the Bell Contest question during the registration.

1k 5k Run Trail Virtual Walk

A family friendly fun run or walk 5K in downtown Powder Springs, GA benefiting Sweetwater Mission. Stabilizing families by preventing hunger and homelessness while transforming Lives through
education and employment opportunities since 1968.
Outfits celebrating the season are encouraged. We will also accept canned food items that will help support us supporting those in need in our local community. Registration is $35 and includes an event t-shirt and a pair of bombas socks.
Also any registered runner under the age of 12 who is in need of a winter coat will receive one to keep.
This is a dog friendly event.
