The AthHalf packs all that Athens has to offer into exciting half marathon and 5K courses! The half marathon course includes a run through Athens’ historic districts, downtown, and the UGA campus, with local Athens bands performing live throughout the course. The 5K course explores downtown Athens and the Boulevard neighborhood with a live band at the start and finish line to help you celebrate your accomplishment. Athens residents come out in force to cheer on and entertain runners along the way, adding to the fun energy of these popular events.
The AthHalf is produced annually by the nonprofit organization, AthFest Educates, and race proceeds support our mission of funding high-quality music and arts education programming for local K – 12 youth. When you run the AthHalf, you are directly impacting a child’s access to music and the arts. Thank you!
We at Georgia Home Partners Realty strive to give back to the community that keeps us in business! Our local firemen, law enforcement officers, and first responders sacrifice so much to protect and serve all of us here in Oconee County. This will be our 9th Annual First Responder event and due to the past success we have had in prior years, we have set a goal of $30,000 this year to give back to our local heroes. Sign up and help us meet this goal!
The Thriller Lake Endurance Run is a 12, 6, and 3 hour timed loop event on the 2.2 mile loop around Miller Lake at Little Mulberry Park in Gwinnett County, GA. It's a Halloween party combined with a race, featuring runners in costume, food, and music.
For 2025, Classic Running and Mount To Coast are providing overall winners with their choice of shoes!
The Trick or Treat Fun Run is for kids and adults of all ages looking for a trick or treat experience in a fun, safe, and positive community setting. Participants will complete one loop of the Miller Lake paved 2.2 mile trail with plenty of opportunities to experience the magic of Halloween. Costumes are highly encouraged, practically required! I mean, we'll be wearing ours… We will have several trick or treat stations along the course stationed with costumed volunteers and most importantly, candy! And don’t worry, you don’t have to run, but as night falls, things may only get stranger…. Just kidding… Or am I?
Seriously though, the Fun Run will start at 630PM, just as the sun starts to set, aka dusk. Most walkers can complete this loop easily under an hour and should be done before full dark (7:30PM). We still encourage guests to bring a flashlight, headlamp, old-timey oil lantern, or a lit torch if you’re concerned about the dark. Ok, maybe not a real torch, but you get the point. Strollers are allowed but we will have to discourage any type of bicycles, scooters, or motorized devices unless medically necessary as there will be other runners on the course as well as the general public. Please remember to always be aware of others using the trail and keep to the right when others need to pass.
The fun run will not be timed. Instead, every participant will get a glow-in-the-dark wrist band when you check in, so that our volunteers will know who is participating in the event. We’ll also have a special treat bag available for the kids, or they can bring their own!
Did we mention costumes? Oh yeah, it wouldn’t be a Halloween event without a costume contest! The top two best costumes (as judged by TEAM SUMMIT(and we know our stuff when it comes to costumes)) will get acknowledged AND the overall BEST costume will receive tickets to a Falcons game, courtesy of our friends with the Falcons organization.
Spectators and family are allowed in the start/finish area but everyone on the course must be registered for the event.
PERC Coffee will be brewed on site for all participants, spectators, and crew!
