The race features a 5K (3.1 mile) scenic route in Dreher Park. Enjoy a post-run snack and awards ceremony after the race. The event also features March for Mental Wellness - a scenic wellness walk through Dreher Park in West Palm Beach, where participants will pause for mini-yoga sessions, guided meditation, neuroarts creativity activities, and pet therapy cuddles. All registered runners will receive a men's or women's shirt. All finishers will receive a Finishers Medal. Age group awards. Chip timing by Accuchip.
Location: Dreher Trail South in Dreher Park. The park entrance from Summit Boulevard (do not enter from Southern Blvd!). The race site is south of Summit Blvd, the zoo is north of Summit Blvd.

The 19th Annual Rooney's 5K will take place on April 4, 2026 at PBKC in West Palm Beach, FL.
Since 2008, we've raised over $253,686.57 for charities located throughout Palm Beach County. This year's charities are Connections Education Center, Palm Beach County - Police Athletic League, Potentia Academy, and Westgate CRA. Don't miss an exciting morning with a little exercise on the roads of Historical Westgate CRA! Participants are chip-timed by Accuchip USA, Inc. Big Breakfast after the race for all who participate.

The 2026 SWA Run AWAY 5K Trail Run & Walk will take place Saturday, April 11, along the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County’s Greenway Trail System. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this signature event highlights the harmony between industry and nature while raising awareness of recycling and solid waste issues.
The Run AWAY 5K offers a truly unique experience, guiding participants over varied terrain and through scenic landscapes that include cabbage palms, cypress hammocks, marshes and lush pine flatwoods. Along the route, runners and walkers will catch glimpses of Grassy Waters Preserve and the SWA's Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park. The race is hosted in partnership with the nonprofit Resource Depot, an organization dedicated to inspiring creativity, conservation and community engagement through reuse.

Running together has its perks! Gather your group of six or more and receive a $5 discount on each registration fee. Groups with six or more participants will receive a special shout out at the race! No need to gather the entire group before signing up – recruitment is open until online registration closes.
Once the sixth person joins your group, the previous five adults will be issued a $5 refund. Team members six and beyond will be able to register at the discounted price once they join the group. While the discount doesn't apply to the youth registration rate, youngsters can still be part of your race team.
Corporate Teams:
Interested in building a team at your workplace, school or organization? Corporate Teams are coordinated by your designated “captain” who compiles a list of participants and submits a single payment for all registrations. Corporate Teams will be recognized at the race, with a special prize awarded to the team with the highest number of participants. FAQ:
Is the event in-person? - Yes. We are back and ready to run with you!
Is the event timed? - Yes! The event will be chip timed with disposable race bibs by AccuChip Timing Services, allowing for results online immediately following the event.
Can I walk the event? - Of course! The 5K (3.1 miles) event is open to all walkers, joggers, and runners; whether competing or just having fun. All participants must be at the finish line by 8:00 PM (course time 1 hour 30 minutes).
Will there be water stations on the route? - We will have a water station on the course and at the finish to help keep you hydrated.
What if the weather is uncooperative? - This is a rain or shine event. We may delay the start of the 5K if weather conditions require us to; however, you should plan to run/walk wet or dry.

Who is Alexander Trujillo?
Alexander Trujillo was a kindhearted 21‑year‑old who courageously battled Acute Lymphocyte Leukemia at Sylvester Cancer Center in 2018. He aspired to become a history professor and dreamed of creating a foundation to support young adults facing cancer.
After Alex passed away, his family fulfilled his wish by establishing this foundation in his honor—continuing his passion for helping others through faith, support, and compassion.

WHAT IS AN OBSTACLE FITNESS RACE: The MOST FUN TEST OF FITNESS! We will run short interval laps between completing 4 OBSTACLE FITNESS ZONES. Each OBSTACLE FITNESS ZONE will have 2 Obstacles (think walls, monkey bars, rope climbs, etc.) and 2 Functional Fitness Exercises (think deadlifts, wall balls, etc.). We stage our OBSTACLE FITNESS ZONES in one area, so that spectators can hang out and cheer you on along the way. Spectators are FREE.
