Our Cause: Taylor Ranch School has a long-standing history of community service and giving back to our Venice community. This year's event will help set our current and former students up for success.

    • We are funding senior scholarships for former TRS Trailblazers who have continued their commitment to community throughout high school.

    • Our main fundraising goal is to secure two interventionists for the 2026-2027 school year. Interventionists work directly with students to reach grade-level mastery in both reading and math. Their expertise and time is of great benefit to our teachers and students!

Join us for this full-community event, open to all who are dedicated to supporting students and their education!

A History of Sharky's Ride the Beaches:

Sharky’s Ride the Beaches supports three charities:

✅ Team Tony, a local Sarasota based foundation helping, hands on those going though cancer treatment and their families.

✅ Friends of the Legacy Trail, dedicated to the maintenance and expansion of Sarasota County’s best cycling asset, the Legacy Trail Park.

✅ Livestrong Foundation, helping people nationwide finding the resources and strength to fight cancer.

2025 Ride the Beaches hosted 650+cyclists and raised $40,000.00 for charity. In our 20 years since inception, Ride the Beaches has donated over $500,000 to charity. The owners and employees of Sharky’s as well as community groups and members DONATE their time to this event. Every penny over cost is donated and NO ONE is paid for their time* preparing for or working at this event!

THE FOOD: All riders will start the day with breakfast on the beach at Sharky’s. Breakfast will be fresh fruit, juice, bagels, bread or pastry, and coffee. All rest stops will be stocked with water, sports drink, fresh fruit, snacks (Shark Bites!) and/or pb&j sandwiches. Lunch will be served on the beach at Sharky’s.

    THE RIDE ROUTES**:

At this point we anticipate returning to our traditional routes but please be advised adjustments will be made as necessary for the safety of our riders and support groups.

🚴‍♂️ The 70 mile ride will follow the 35 milers for the first half. After Manasota Key the ride will head east through horse farm country. There will be a rest stop along the Myakka River. From there we head west again and will pick up The Legacy Trail. We will ride the trail up to the next rest stop sponsored by The Friends of The Legacy Trail and then to Casey Key, more riding along the beach, ending at Sharky’s for lunch.

🚴‍♂️ The 35 mile ride will take you over the Intercoastal waterway to the neighborhood streets of south Venice. You will cross the intercoastal waterway again, and have your first rest stop. Now ride down beautiful Manasota Key. In some places you will be so close to the beach, you have to watch for sand in the road with many beautiful vistas of the Gulf! After returning up the key you will hit the rest stop again and head back to Venice, this time using the Venetian Waterway Trail part of the way.

🚴‍♂️ The 15 mile ride stays on the island of Venice. There is an optional extra 4 miles that goes over the circus bridge, S on the Venetian Waterway Trail (to Shamrock Park as the turn around point) and back. This ride is suitable for most anybody with a bike. You will ride to Casperson Beach to access the Venetian Waterway trail. After riding the trail to the north side of Venice you will ride low traffic roads to the Venice Yacht Club for your rest stop. From there you will meander through residential side streets back to Sharky’s.
