The Shamrock Scurry, one of Tallahassee’s oldest races, is held at Killearn Methodist Church annually and it all started in 1981. This event, including a popular Pancake Breakfast afterward, has all proceeds going to local charities, youth rehabilitation and feeding programs. It has become one of the largest and most popular 5K and 1 mile races in the Tallahassee area, with around 1,000 regional runners participating. The course begins near the church on Roscommon Drive and features a scenic route of residential areas and the Killearn Country Club golf course. Most of the original course is followed, which many in the running community remember as “good but tough”, and still features the famed “Scurry Hill” around mile 2. So come join the fun and come race for a great cause!
CAPITAL CITY SENIOR GAMES 5K
The Shamrock Scurry is again the designated 5K for the Capital City Senior Games. If you are 50 and over, and want to compete in both the Shamrock Scurry and the Senior Games, participants must register with both the Senior Games ( TALGOV.COM/SENIORGAMES ) and with the Shamrock Scurry. If you have any questions about the Senior Games, please contact Cindy Mead at 850-566-5810.

"Walk a mile in their shoes!" This year, we celebrate the 36th Annual Tallahassee AIDS Walk, working alongside partner organizations Neighborhood Medical Center and Bond Community Health Center. The Tallahassee AIDS Walk continues to grow, drawing hundreds of participants each year. AIDS Walk 2026 will be held on Saturday, April 4th at Cascades Park and begins at 9:00am.
This event is a celebration of all of those who have fought so hard to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS. All proceeds will go towards helping all three agencies provide direct-care services for our clients, and HIV prevention & education for the entire Big Bend region. After a memorial walk around the Cascades Park Trail (details on specific walk TBD), we will gather to listen to speakers and music.
Participants can pre-order shirts through Friday, March 27th. After this date, shirts will no longer be available on this site, but extra shirts will be for sale the day of the event. We also encourage student organizations, companies, families, clubs, and faith groups to make a team and register together! Walkers can become fundraisers themselves, employ creative ways to engage their networks, and help us reach our goal of $40,000.
We walk for the more than 100,000 people living with HIV in Florida. We walk to remember those who no longer can. We walk to remind you that you’re not alone. We walk for a nation. We walk to educate. We walk for change.
