The 15th Annual Superhero 5K & Fun Run will be held on February 7, 2026, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. The start/finish line will be ON THE ISLAND near the rowing finish tower!

This is a Foster Care Awareness Event. In-person and virtual racing options are available.

The Kids' Fun Run starts at 8:30am. The 5K will be on a CHIP START between 9-9:10am. You will receive an official chip time and place. Master and Overall timed at gun time 9am. USATF Rules.

More than just a race, the Superhero race brings together child welfare agencies and the community to highlight the approximately 700 youth who are in local foster care in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto Counties, while providing a family-friendly event with music, a kiddie zone, food, and giveaways.

We believe that kids in foster care and those who care for them are some of our community's most incredible heroes, which is the reason we have chosen a superhero theme. So don't be shy... come dressed as your favorite hero and get ready for an awesome race and cause! Participation medals will be awarded to the first 700 5K runners to cross the finish line!

The course is an out-and-back. The 5K race will begin near the finish tower on the island (same location as 2025 race).

Come join a really fun crew for the Fifth Annual 5K RUN FOR THE DONUT on Saturday, February 14💖, 2026. Have a blast on a professionally chip-timed, flat, out-and-back with a loop 5K course that travels through a beautiful wooded neighborhood. Stay for the awards while you enjoy your coffee, donut and other breakfast items!

5K RUN FOR THE DONUT IS SANCTIONED BY THE MANASOTA TRACK CLUB, AND IS IN THE 2026 RACING SERIES.

Costumes encouraged, the crazier the better.

Saturday Race Schedule:
- 8:00 am start for 5K
- Fun Run starts 30ish minutes after 5K race start
Location: Lakeview Elementary School, 7299 Proctor Rd in Sarasota through Bent Tree Woodlands II

All parking and indoor bathrooms are at the Sarasota Baptist Church across the street. Port a Potties available at Lakeview.

THIS RACE WILL HAPPEN RAIN OR SHINE. If there are unsafe conditions for runners and volunteers (for example, heavy rain, wind and lightning) the race will switch to a virtual race.

This will always be a small, family feel event - race capped at 500 registrants.

No refunds, all registrations are donations to keep growing YL in the Sarasota Community.

Awards will be available for two weeks at New Balance Sarasota, 1872 Stickney Point Rd starting on Monday after the race if you are unable to stay for the ceremony.

This is a fundraiser for Young Life Sarasota. What is Young Life? Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. Our 2nd Annual Stride to Thrive is Suncoast STARS Community’s family-friendly fundraising walk/run benefiting our innovative Work & Enrichment Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. (Please note that only service animals are welcome. For safety purposes, we ask that you please leave your furry friends at home!)

Following the run/walk, participants will enjoy our Family Fun Fest, including food trucks, bounce houses, music by DJ Mike, face painters, a vendor village, nonprofit booths, the Bradenton Marauder's batting cage and more! This year we are adding a Silent Auction!

5k Course: The 5k start 8:30 course will take you from the Grace Community Church campus parking lot, onto Communications Pkwy, turning left onto Professional Pkwy with a turnaround near Lakewood Ranch Blvd N. The race will finish back at the Grace Community Church campus parking lot from Communications Pkwy. Age groups custom student awards: OA <19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+

1 mile Course: The 1-mile course is a paved path, accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, that will leave from the Grace Community Church parking lot, immediately after the 5k runners have left, and travel along Communications Pkwy with a turnaround at the half-mile mark and end back at the church.

Race officials reserve the right to remove a pet if it appears to be aggressive.

Athletes participating in the combination SUP & RUN will run the 5K first and then hop on their paddle board for a 5K paddle around Nathan Benderson Park. The SUP & RUN 5K draws top runners and SUP'ers who compete for cash prizes but it's our not-so-serious athletes who have the most prominent place in the event.

Life;Story is Centerstone’s national walk/run for suicide prevention, bringing communities together across Illinois, Tennessee, and Florida for a day of hope, healing, and connection.

Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome—from seasoned runners to families with strollers, toddlers in the kids’ races, and pups on leashes. Whether you join us in person or virtually, you’ll be part of a meaningful experience that uplifts those impacted by suicide and celebrates the courage it takes to keep going.

The semicolon in Life;Story symbolizes a pause—not an ending—and reflects the belief that every person’s story has more ahead. This event carries that spirit forward with a supportive, energizing atmosphere filled with community vendors, mental health resources, free giveaways, and crowd-favorite perks like an event T‑shirt, finisher medal, and our curated Spotify playlist.

Proceeds from Life;Story help Centerstone provide mental health and addiction services for individuals with limited or no resources. By participating, you’re helping save lives, strengthening your community, and reminding others that their story matters—and that it’s far from over.

The Florida Inline Skating Marathon’s Inaugural event was launched by Founder/President Mike Mason, and an impassioned ensemble of inline skaters, in October 2021. The FISM immediately became the largest skate race in Florida; and of the largest in the nation. The FISM is held at the World Class venue- Nathan Benderson Park, in the charming community of Lakewood Ranch, in sunny, Sarasota, Florida. A variety of race distances offer something for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Not since 2005 had the World Inline Cup (WIC) been represented in the USA, to which the FISM is proud to be an Associated Race. If you are returning, thank you for your past participation! This year we will not only have awards for top 3 male and female but we will be expanding our awards to top 2 in age groups. The age groups will be 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Packet Pick up will be:

Dec 29th @ New Balance, 315 N Cattlemen RD, Sarasota from 4 to 7pm.

Dec 30th @ Run With Purpose Nutrition, 8319 Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, during normal business hours 7am to 4pm.
