Get your race on! The Bay County FAMU Alumni Association is hosting a 5K race to raise money for future FAMU students’ scholarships.

This race brings students, families, and community members together for a morning of fitness and Rattler pride! The course is a flat and safe 3.1 miles through Majette Park, ideal for all ability levels.

Bring your white shirts as you get doused with our FAMU school colors. This is going to be an unforgettable race day!

Race Day Check on May 23rd at Majette Park at 7:30am.

Come kick off the 2026 Independence Day with a 5K Fun Run.

The Mexico Beach Sandy Shoes 5K Fun Run is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get you prepared for a great 4th of July. All ages are invited to participate in this family, fun race. A very easy course that will allow any stage of runner to enjoy. Runners will start and end at the same location with water stations along the road to route runners through the course. This is a non-chipped, non-official timed race. All runners will be responsible for capturing his/her own time.

Race will start at 7:00am on July 4, 2026, at Under the Palms Park (corner of Seventh Street & Maryland Blvd.) Race packet pick up: Friday July 3rd 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM. El Governor Beach Resort 1701 Hwy 98. All times listed are Central.

Registration is now open! Registration fee includes race bib and tee shirt. Don’t wait as registration will close on June 17, 2026. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to having you participate in our Sandy Shoes 5K Fun Run.
